I think you can get Monhan for just a first, or a first and B prospect if there is a bidding war. He would be a good fit in Edmonton though, imo

I agree this is an overpay. But you never know, some teams get desperate at the deadline and with half retained Monahan is dirt cheap for what he provides. If somehow this does happen, please let me know which day you streak, so I can stay far away lol

no, mccabe is what an average number 4 defender is, and if you can tell by that number that means he is a top 4 defender.
if monahan was on any other team i wouldnt have to talk about how he wasnt worth a 1st because most fan bases are smart enough to realize that he isnt very good and if he was a leaf i'd think the same thing about him that i do about domi, that he's a one trick pony who i dont want on my team. Its predicated on the fact that you think Monahan is a 2nd line player. He isn't. Not anymore. Hes having a nice bounce back year on Montreal's 3rd line. Sure his price tag as a rental might spike a bit, but he's not worth a first. Only you guys would pay that much for a rental. Likely a 2nd or a 3rd when it comes down to it and perhaps a middling prospect tossed in.

I will laugh because it's a terrible trade. You do realize that you can say a player isnt worth a price and someone can pay that price and it can still be stupid right? Unless you think a player is worth whatever price a team pays for them so there has never been a bad trade ever.
I wont admit anything because I have already said many times that GMs make stupid moves, that doesnt mean Monahan should or will get a 1st, because that would be a terrible move for any team to make and I'd still be right.
If I told you Ryan Reaves was gonna get a 1st would you say I was correct and smart? If a GM made such a dumb move would what I say be any more correct or smarter? No, because it would be one of the worst trades of all time.

Luckily for you Ken Holland has never paid a 1st for a rental, and he won't start with Monahan. There are teams out there who are desperate for centers, but Edmonton isn't one of them.
