So post an actual critic of the trade, not rant about how the Isles don't do it. It's already an over pay but do you think the Isles make the Habs add? Do you think they add a veteran to fill a depth need with the loss of Dobson before Reinbacher is ready? Do you think the Islanders would need the 2024 first to be a certain number in the top 10?

All those questions are criticisms, none of what you actually stated are.

It's not impossible that the Isles decide to tear it down and rebuild. They are deeply in the mushy middle. Maybe Lou steps away and the new GM sells a vision of drafting James Hagen's & Michael Misa in 2025. Hell of a way to kickoff a rebuild!

Even if they go scorched earth in a rebuild, Dobson would still be one of the guys they'd keep to build around. 24 year old point per game defensemen don't grow on trees.

There's no way to post a criticism of the trade because it's so unrealistic. If you listed every Islander player in order from most likely to be traded to least likely to be traded, Dobson is the last player on the bottom of that list and it's not close.

Team is definitely improved but still think they may be a year or two from playoffs. Just because of inexperience.
