Description

cbj start off by being the middle man for the saros to devils trade. im not saying the details here are correct or the value is correct, so please make suggestions.

cbj get out of the elvis situation but are still on the hook for $5.4 mil in goaltending this season between vanecek and the retention. nashville gets a decent-cost league-average goalie (with potential for better) that bridges until askarov is ready and they also get a young NHL RHD with some theoretical upside, plus two picks. NJD get saros at a price lower than nashville would take for him.

the jackets take on the campbell contract and provide edmonton a veteran option to back up skinner for a season. boston commits to swayman and trades ullmark for a first and a goaltending prospect that could backup swayman for not too much money.

cbj have $20 mil in space summer 2025 and only vronny (and maybe ullmark) needs a deal and then summer 2026 another $30 mil comes off the books to pay fantilli, johnson, chinakhov, jiricek, and mateychuk.

this is the stupidest thing i've ever spent an hour doing.

If that's New Jersey's offer for Saros then Nashville skips the middleman and deals with them. Not sending a 1st to Nashville for Saros is insane, as well as dumping Elvis, who is untradeable right now

looking like the league is disagreeing tbh and as a jackets fan i really think most likely outcome is he's bought out or just buried if we need roster space.

Ending up retaining on Elvis, losing tarasov, and taking Campbells contract, losing a likely top 5-10 pick and ending up with a year of ullmark and Casey is horrendous asset management. Ended up taking on cap and losing a premium draft pick for a marginal upgrade at goalie for one year

yea im overvaluing the idea of "un****ing the roster logjam". hinges upon ullmark-greaves being a great tandem for a while with a reasonable ullmark resigning. or ullmark and provorov being flipped at 2025 TDL for good pieces that smooth it over.

Yeah for sure. These trades make the jackets way worse long term and trade away picks and take on tons of cap. Terrible for them

Blankenberg is a 6/7 D energy type player. Casey should be better but trading a pick that will probably end up top 5 for a team rebuilding is dumb
