I mean Elvis isn't exactly positive value so it's basically just Kent Johnson in that return.

Habs are likely looking at giving up their 2024 1st (as long as it's not top 5) and then throw in Beck

Ugh. I'd give up the 2024 1st max and even then Zegras is not someone I target. The Habs have multiple 1sts and a ton of cap space. Use some creativity and put some pressure on cap teams like Florida and Vegas. Anaheim doesnt have a pressure point. I can see Chicago 'overpaying' for Zegras because they dont want the Bedard shine to wear off next year with an awful team. Zegras would be a frustrating player. Look at Blues fans that wanted to give away another point producer in Kyrou a month ago cause of his brain cramps.

Personally, Habs fans are scared of Zegras because he seems like as a '' swollen head ''......

But in my opinion, theses types of persons gets put mentaly on the floor by someone who knows better than him, and that's means a player or a head coach who already won the Cup in the NHL situation (like St-Louis, who is a Cup winner and also a HOF). So personally, i'm not scared with that.

They telling that, but nobody in the Habs medias talked about the option of trading our 2024 1st round pick.....

i know that. Guhle is already playing top pair on his offside vs teams like the Avs and flourishing. A team Sheldon Keefe just said was in a different league in terms of talent with the Avs top line.
Hes untouchable but I'm already over the Zegras madness.
Let Chicago overbid for him. Anaheim has no pressure to deal him even tho Verbeek is clearly willing to do it!

LOLOL the wings easily say no to Elvis when Alex Lyon is on a heater. No shot even if you retained half his salary is he worth Hanas and a 3rd GTFO

First off, Alex Lyon is a 31 year old career AHL/ fringe NHL goalie who had a decent run with Florida last year and is having a really nice run with Detroit right now, it won't likely last. He is not a long term solution and Cossa, if he pans out, is still a couple years away from being a back up. Hanas isn't really much, at most if he ever makes it he will be a third line winger. A third is just that a third, there isn't really a bunch of value coming to Anaheim. We paid a third for Ned and Husso. Merz is a lot more established and has had 4 pretty good seasons on a really bad Columbus team.

The Henrique trade with retention is interesting, especially at that price, but I think the Jets need to pay up for a higher-end centre. I don't think that Henrique is a significant improvement over Namestnikov at that position, and we're leaving cap space on the table if Henrique is our "big" add. The only way this deal makes sense is if we're adding someone significant on D, and I sort of don't really see that happening.

Just in terms of value, I think Anaheim would value Johnson over Montreal's 1st this year. Likely picking between 8-12 so unless they absolutely love someone that should be in that range, I don't think it would be enough.

Something that they can make is trade after the MTL pick to CBJ in a package for Johnson (if they really wants him.....).

So, they got a young RDman who have a high-potential and who is already on the NHL level (Barron) + they receive another young player with a promising talent (Johnson).

I don't know why they would even include Montreal in a deal like that.

Don't really understand this from Detroit's perspective🤔Lyon is our 1 number goalie with a steal of a contract. I don't think we should spend 5.4M on a back up. And what about Husso?

Anaheim need a young RDman, and don't expect CBJ trading Jiricek for Zegras. Montreal have Barron, Reinbacher and Mailloux (who have right now the same amount of pts than Zellweger in the AHL) and they are EXTREMLY open to make a trade involving a young Dman for a established young offensive foward. Also, Anaheim didn't need another goalie in their organisation, they have Gibson and Dostal who makes the job.

A KJ for Zegras swap probably does make sense for both teams. They're redundant to each other, but each has a slightly different tendency that I think might fit the other team a little better. It would be very interesting to see KJ paired with McTavish and Zegras with Marchenko, for example.

Helleson, Luneau and Warren, they aren't hurting. Can always draft more. Montreal isn't trading Reinbacher.

Luneau and Barron are on the same level, and Barron is my opinion over Luneau. Warren is a interresting one, and I never heard Helleson.

Montreal will likely give a massive overpay for Zegras (if they really wants him). They have the reputation of that.

I think Anaheim will gonna want the best offer possible, and I also don't think Columbus will really wants to trade away Johnson for Zegras because they really likes Johnson.

FIrst off, i never said Lyon was the tendy of the future, and it MOST CERTAINLY WONT BE ELVIS. There is a reason why Elvis has not been traded yet and its because of cap and term. You talk about 4 good seasons, but left out how one season he was the clear starter, 2 were backup roles which were his best seasons, then you go into last year where he was god awful and then this season hes just mid again. Literally dont know what else Lyon has to do to prove to ppl he can be a capable goaltender and who cares if he isnt a legit #1 or a longterm fix, hes currently doing well and thats all that matter right now.
