Really? Sens finally get a solid RHD. Calgary balances out their LHD and can potentially resign him in offseason. That seems to solve some big issues for both teams.

Calgary next year only has weegar a LHD and Andersson and RHD signed. The trade does not balance out the pairings for Calgary. Calgary has a balanced top pairing they can use year and sign players to balance out the bottom two pairings. There is no need for a Chychrun for Andersson deal.

Or maybe Calgary resigns Hanifin for the same $ Chycrun will command, and keeps Anderson and his low cap hit for the next 2 years!

Flames keep the (slightly) cheaper, one more year of control and arguably the better Andersson over Chychrun.

You know Weegar plays the left side? After seeing him play the right last year, he definitely belongs on the side he's played his whole career (left).

Calgary actually needs more RD.

I like Chychrun, but we need Anderson more and he is a better player IMO. That being said, there is probably a deal to be had between the two teams considering Ottawa needs some veteran stability and Calgary needs D and Center prospects.
