Fun sure, but none of this is realistically happening. Not convinced that a Monahan Savard trade with Montreal could ever happen. The only player on Montreal that is on Toronto's radar is Jin

I get this is “ideal”, but stay on planet earth:
1/ Leafs won’t move him & Marner ain’t waiving do just plain waste of time
2/ Flames aren’t moving Andersen when they have just lost one - and will trade 2 other - pending UFA dmen; just plain fantasy 🤦🏻
3/ neither one of these players excite: Monaghan - injury, Savard - washed

Minnesota has absolutely no cap space, so they couldn't absorb Marner alone with what's going out. Plus, Brodin has an absolute NMC and the Wild wouldn't want to move him in any event.

Take out the seconds and the package to Calgary is reasonably comparable to the package Vancouver got for Bo Horvat. So that might get you Lindholm. Andersson, on the other hand, has two seasons left on his contract after this one, so you'd have to include one of the seconds to get the Flames interested. That package isn't nearly enough to get both of them, plus the retention.

Monahan and Savard reminds me of the Foligno trade you guys made a while back. Fortunately, this version doesn't involve a first.

Well, whatever Leafs fans might say, Montreal declines 100%.

There are 2 sides to every trade.
Monahan and Savard might fit or not fit in Toronto's lineup.

Regardless.

From Montreal's side, just Monahan for that package, and they decline. Or just Savard for that package, and they decline. 100%.

You can explain this or that or compare this or that... but it will always come from the LEafs perspective.
And that's fine. From the LEafs perspective.

From the Habs perspective? That's a firm NO. There is NOTHING interesting in that tepid package.

From the Habs perspective, all their players are world beaters even when they are a lottery team. Savard sucks and Monahan is nothing special.

Yet both are able to help the Habs beat teams the Leafs can't beat (Chicago), what's that say about the Leafs if injury prone players and "washed" players can beat teams they can't beat?!

Did the Habs beat the Hawks or not? Did the Leafs lose to those same Hawks 3 times already this season? Answer to both questions is an yes. Saying those Habs players are washed or injury prone has got to mean something worse when the Leafs can't beat the Hawks yet the Habs can!

Marner isn't waiving for Minnesota. Nor can they even afford him.

That offer doesn't even get you Rasmus Andersson, Let alone Andersson and Lindholm 50% retained.

And... what does it matter what kind of a pace either are on? That doesn't change the fact that something has to be fundamentally wrong with the Leafs if they can't beat a team that a team full of "injured and washed" players can beat!

I seriously worry about you - to clarify, the nhl does not award entry to playoffs based off randomly selected head to head matchup results . It’s based off total points acquired over an 82 game season, and over the ~ 30 games played so far - the Leafs are acquiring more points than the Habs. Again, seek help

You should be worried about yourself if you can't comprehend a simple statement. You said that Monahan ad Savard are injury prone and washed players. My question was plain and simple, if the Habs can beat Chicago with injury prone and washed players, what is the Leafs excuse for not beating the Hawks? They are supposed to have a better team, they are supposed to be cup contenders but they have played the Hawks 3 times so far and lost every game, so what does it say about the Leafs if they can't beat a team that a bunch of "injury prone and washed" players can beat handily? To me that says they are nowhere near a cup contender, they are more of a pretender like the Oilers. It's either that or the Habs aren't as bad as what you let on them to be, so you make the decision. Are the Leafs pretenders or are the Habs better than you let on?!

If Savard is so bad then why would the Leafs be interested in trading this package for Savard?
