Asking price for Brady should be what Calgary got for Matthew

Description
The template for the asking price is Huberdeau + Weegar + a 1st.

Ottawa should not accept anything less than that.

If nobody wants to pay the asking price, then Brady doesn't get traded.

It's that simple.

        IDK.

Probably using him as the scapegoat for all our troubles, now that we fired the Head Coach.

In that case, I got a 12-for-1 Stützle trade coming….

        brady wont get traded.

But your logic is flawed. why would a worse player get as much as a better one.

doesnt mean brady is bad, matthew is just a tier above him.

I agree that Brady won't get traded.

But folks in AGM seem to think otherwise.

And I can't think of any better comparable for Brady than his brother Matthew.

        Meier.

        Much more comparable players.

        Meier 8.8x4+3 mill= 38 mill
        Brady 8.2x5=41 mill

        Sharks got:
3 mill cap dump cancels with Zetterlund and Okhotiuk.

top 75 prospect, 1st, conditional 1st/2nd. There's your Tkachuk price.

I would trade Kyrou for Tkachuk. But not add anything on top.

Matthew on the other hand would add quite a bit more.

Kyrou for Brady still adds quite a bit of risk to each team. Kyrou is elite at creating rush chances, good chance this season is the outlier and not his past two.

Brady adds a different element. But he isn’t the complete player Matthew was at the time of the trade.

Ottawa shouldn’t trade him, nor should the Blues trade Kyrou

Brady will get more than what CGY got , more than what BUf got in the eichel deal, 4 more years at 8.2M and he has no say on were he goes as he does not have a NTC/NMC for another 1.5 years, there would be a massive bidding war for him as he is the type of player that every team wants in their top 6, some have one those that don't want one

Contract situations make it much tougher to compare Meier and B Tkachuk.

Can’t overlook the remaining term vs Meier being an expiring RFA with a gigantic QO

That's why I included the contract meier got.

In order to be comparable over 5 years to Brady:

        Brady will make 41 mill.
Meier had 1 year at 3 mill with retention.

So 4 years, 38 mill total. That would be a 9.5x4 extension. Meier would have 100% signed that.

The extension was not pre discussed or extended prior to the trade. You can’t just back date stuff into reasoning which happened after the fact.

Does it matter if they do? There have been 4 billion Parayko and Buchnevich trade AGMs as of late. Only thing you can do is try and have an open discussion, or explain why certain trades wouldn’t work. It’s not like it has a bearing on anything regardless. Won’t change front offices decisions

You can use common sense and realize that there was never a scenario where Meier's extension was going to be like 10+ million. Which is what it would have to be to be meaningfully more than Tkachuk's over 5 years.

The range on a meier deal was always 8.5-9.5 mill AAV. Making it comparable.

It was a joke. Calgary won't be able to move Huby until he gets some complimentary forwards to play with and ups his value relative to his cap hit.

Weegar is playing well, so that's a positive

For that package I’d want McJesus. Brady is not McJesus.

        Pasta > Brady

        FFS

        🙄

I couldn't think of a better comparable on the Bruins for Huberdeau.

        Sorry.

Brady’s hard to find a comparable because there really isn’t any currently that play like him, Matthew is the closest I guess because of his name and their tendency to get under the opponents skin. Don’t think they get the same package Calgary did, think it be closer to the Eichel trade: Replacement top 6 F, a good prospect, 1st, 2nd and maybe another piece. But again, doubt they even look to move him anytime soon

Ok. CGY Offers Huberdeau, Weegar and a 1st for Tkatchuk.

Omg I’d pay money to see that lol

Blues respond with Krug, Saad, and a first for Brady

If they don’t give that up for Matty they certainly wouldn’t consider it for Brady

Sadly… yea obviously I’m exaggerating but I wouldn’t do this trade for Brady, hell I wouldn’t do it for Matty
