Devils decline. We have enough depth in net, offer us Allen or Monty instead.

Primeau maybe if we had injury to Schmid or Vanecek. But if everyone is healthy, he would likely be in AHL. Allen is probably the guy we would call about, if anyone.

Montreal doesn't need to pay to move Anderson (yet).

The 1st is the only thing that moves the needle in the Edmonton trade. Not worth giving up Monahan and taking Campbell for those pieces.

Washington trade is inconsequential for Montreal. Just taking a lot of extra cap for a 3rd. Neither player is here long enough to matter.

Primeau for a 5th is fine (to any team) if he's destined for waivers.

The Habs would have to pay anyone for Anderson unless a worse contract comes back, Garland is solid, just not scoring. And for the price of pieces the Habs have extras of, they save 600k in cap and a year

The WSH trade is to acquire a better center for this year and to attempt a reclamation project. If Kuzzy turns into a 70 point player again, you could trade him 50% retained for a haul. While Dvorak is a just bad and wont get anything.

Um, no.

This is my way of saying, “no thank you” politely.

Montreal doesn't need to pay or take bad contracts to do anything at all. They aren't a budget team, they don't need the cap space, and they don't have enough players ready to assume roster spots (at forward anyway).
There's also been no indicated desire to do so. If Anderson were in cap dump territory, it would be preceded by healthy scratches and waivers. There would also be players ahead of him in line to be shipped out.

It took a 1st for them to take Monahan. They aren't taking Kuznetsov for a 3rd. There will be better opportunities available for $8M.
