Middleton would be a solid 3rd pairing guy next year when Lohrei is ready to play with Carlo full-time.

Tanev would be a good add to upgrade Shatty, but I would only make that deal if he signs an extension on a good deal for the Bs.

Bruins need some physicality on the 4th line, but Lauko is a more well-rounded player

Defense doesn't seem to be the biggest issue for the Bruins. That's not to say CGY wouldn't accept. Tanev is a great shut down man, I would assume the Bruins would want Center depth.

Boston could use an upgrade over their 3rd right D, but they aren’t going to trade their minimal draft capital for an older player (even though he is good).

Also, people keep on bringing up Middleton. Stop it. Boston is going to be in a position to sign a big time free agent option. I’d hate to see them lose out because they brought in a fringe defenseman.

not sure what big time free agent they would target.. most think Lorhei will be 2nd pairing with Carlo and Hampus with CM. so they'll be UFA diving for 3rd pairing guys.

They have the cap room to sign Lindholm, Hanifin, Bennet, or Nylander if things play out right. I’d hate for them to have to make a move to sign Nylander because they traded for a middling salary next year I think Don is being cautious until certain players are formally signed

It's a good value for Tanev. I don't think the Flames get that much back, and I wouldn't be disappointed by this return.

i agree, i think he'll likely target a guy who he can resign like he's done and tried to do in the past. i don't love giving up what little picks we have left for rentals. I don't know if goes after Hanafin thought with Lorhei waiting in the wings. certainly needs top 6 FWD help more than anything.
