Description
Okay Assume the Habs finish with the 5th pick
CBJ finish with the 3rd pick
Hawks finish with the 1st pick
Edmonton finish with the 13th pick
Washington finish with the 20th pick

These are all realistic finishes I believe

Habs take Cellebrini at #1 and Levshunov at #5 (Unless Demidov is still there)

If it cost more to Dump Anderson, Habs could add Kidney, Harris, Xhekaj, or any non 1st round picks

I think it works cap wise, since the Caps will give their RFAs bridge deals. And they should be going all in while Ovi is still playing

1. Maybe. I think the Oilers can find better deals, but the value isn't bad.

2. Eh, again maybe, a better deal than the Oiler one.

3. Washington won't do that.

4. Interesting deal, don't think the value is that bad but don't see either team doing it.

5. Ya no shot. This is the most egregious one. You're asking the Hawks to take a terrible contract AND move back in the draft? For like what? A couple of middle of the line-up players, a late 1st and 2nds? It's the first overall man.

Complete hell no on all fronts, IMO this is horrible for the Habs. After all that you may as well just trade Dach, Caufield, Slaf and Guhle cause this type of moves set our rebuild back another 5 years

Take out the 2024 1st round pick for the oilers trade and replace it with the 2025 one and add 3rd the 2024 1st is just to valuable and risky to trade away right now imo

Wow! Do you have any understanding of how bad Anderson’s contract is? Three more seasons after this current year at $5.5m per, that takes at least 2 x 1st round picks to move. The rest of that package doesn’t even come close to getting #1 overall pick (Celebrini).

You think Anderson is just complete garbage. I swear you losers only look at point totals and not look at how he have 5.6 expected goals. If he wasnt unlucky (no one with a rational mind would think hes that bad at shooting normally) hed have 6 goals in in 20 games. Thats what, 24 ish goal season. 20 goal pace at 5.5 million is not great but it isnt one of the worst contracts in the league. Hes not even top 10 worst contracts. So as a message to many, look a little further than Pts or PPg or Points/60 and use other analytical values to evaluate players. Unless we use that thinking, and RNH is a top 10 NHL player. See how dumb that sounds. Or how about Boeser being a top 5 player in the NHL. Sounds pretty stupid eh

Jackets need a top 6 center. There are no 60+ point Centers in the draft after Cellebrini. Dont give me Catton or Lindstrom bs, they are average 50 point players, might hit 60+ a couple times in their career.

So wouldnt it be in the Jackets favour to move down 10 spots (in a deep draft) and acquire said 60+ point center. Or would you rather them hope Kent Johnson and Cole Sillinger become anything but 3rd line Cs

Hawks need everything. Their prospect pool is very top heavy and do not require another top 6 C. Therefore, they can move down 2 spots and grab Demidov or Eiserman easily and grab a Cole Hutson or Masse at 20, and get a top 4 D in Barron and a top 9 forward in Farrell. All while eating 3 years of Anderson (who is extremely unlucky this season, any other season he has 6 goals rn, which is a 24 goal pace).

The price difference in this draft between 1st and 3rd is like 2023. Cellebrini is elite but hes not generational. And the drop off isnt as harsh. Demidov and Eiserman are both elite wingers. Demidov being a Kaprizov clone and Eiserman being the next perennial 40 goal scorer

If you think this team is in any way gonna be ready in less than 4 years with the insane lack of elite talent up front is laughable. the "future" core just got dominated by a 3 win San Jose Sharks team. Slaf is the best forward prospect in the org. Roy might be a good middle 6 guy but if you expect him to be a PPG player then you are gonna be disappointed. Honestly id do all these moves and give up the 5th pick for Celebrini. Hes needed that badly by the Habs.

Washington definitely would not go for that. Matheson and Monahan could be decent players but Washington's defense is already pretty much set this year and Monahan as a rental won't be enough to convince the Caps to trade both their 1st round pick and arguably their best prospect. Center depth isn't an issue with Strome-Kuz-McMichael, as well as the emergence of Lapierre. Maybe the Caps and Habs could swing a trade for Matheson at some point. But for now, I can't see a world in which they move any of the three assets in the trade (including Mantha for now) for the current package since they don't need to open up cap space and they're likely vying for a wild card spot by the deadline.

Wow! You seem mentally stable.

Enjoy all the fancy stats you want, I will continue to put a greater emphasis on the ones that really matter like goals, assists, wins. Anderson hasn’t been contributing much to any of them to justify his horrible contract.

i would do this. enough waiting for the jackets. This would be a great time to start a competitive window adding a player like that instead of waiting for *another* prospect in an already top 3 prospect pool. and getting the first as well. move down 10 spots and get suzuki? yes please. Only problem would be cap. I really wish we didn't have that severson contract. We're 2-0 now without him lol. Of all the positive moves Jarmo makes he always makes a bad one that cancels all effectiveness of the good
