I took on Spurgeon's full cap hit and got Boldy as compensation. Looking back, it probably wasn't a good trade at all. Just experimenting though.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for a future build. Johnson is a Swiss army knife kind of player that you can pretty much plug in anywhere.

That's a no from the Avs. Only way I can see any interest in Hall in any way from the Avs would be if Landy is done.

And even then, they'd be better off looking for someone younger and more productive.

Understandable. How would you construct the trade? I was playing at Boston's need for centre depth and DeBrusk potentially benefitting from a change of scenery.

Girard is a top 4 dman who has as many points as Hall and is on a sweet deal, they could flip him in the off season for significantly more than a sputtering Hall, who incidentally has one more point than Drouin with a cap hit $5M higher. This is really bad for the Avs.

How do you think Boston has a center depth problem? Zacha/Coyle/Poitras/Beecher has been a strength rather than a weakness. Geekie/Frederic/Steen are players that were centers that have been moved to wing. Can slide back in if needed.

To answer your question…i wouldn’t. It makes zero sense. The biggest thing the lineup is lacking is another top 6 FW. Trading one away does not help. Especially for depth pieces.

Teams can only carry a maximum of 3 Retained Salaries at a time.
