How far off are these values and would these teams be interested in Lindholm?
Just trying to gauge where the market would be for him.

  1. DeBrusk, Jake
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2025 (BOS)
Détails additionnels:
Not sure if they can make it work with the cap for an extension or not.
I figured there would have to be a decent roster player going back, chose Debrusk as he seems to make the most sense and I know they aren't trading Carlo.
An extension would have to be agreed upon for both teams.
How is the value here?

CGY
  1. Krebs, Peyton
  2. Östlund, Noah
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (BUF)
Détails additionnels:
Is adding Krebs too much? I'm not too high on him.
Lindholm would immediately become Buffalo's best defensive forward and best centre on draws.

Is there a desire in Carolina for another centre?

Détails additionnels:
Would Columbus still be in the market for a centre?
Would be neat to get Gaudreau and Lindholm back together, you know there is already chemistry there.
Does not need to be added?
How high are people on Sillinger?

  1. Batherson, Drake
  2. Pinto, Shane [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
I know they have Stutzle and Norris down the middle but how good would this forward core be by adding Lindholm?
Not sure if the cap would work for next season or not though with an extension in place.

  1. Lindholm, Elias
6.
CGY
  1. Kuznetsov, Evgeny
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2024 (WSH)
Détails additionnels:
The pick would have to be unprotected. If there has to be protection on it there likely would have to be something more added.
I don't have Kuznetsov holding any really value in this trade, he is just acting as a replacement player and salary dump.
Would Washington risk giving up a lottery pick to acquire a player like Lindholm?

How's the value here, I'm pretty high on Nyman?

  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (PHI)

Détails additionnels:
Dark horse team to acquire him in my opinion.
They would have two of the best defensive forwards 1-2 down the middle with another Selke candidate coming up in Cates.
With Couts and Atkinson healthy, they actually look like a decent team.
I know they said they were rebuilding giving up an early second and a third next year plus a player that they aren't playing I don't think is too high of a price. They do have two first round picks this year already.

Batherson and Pinto are both younger, and will very likely be more productive combined than Lindholm ove the next several years

I mean... what kind of production do you expect Lindholm to have? He had that monster season with 40 goals, but that's not who he has been for the vast majority of his career. This season is a wash with the Pinto suspension, but it's not crazy to suggest that Batherson+Pinto will out produce Lindholm on his own, and for the duration of Batherson's contract, they'll do it for several million less

For Sabres it all depends on contract extension. For rental - no, thank you.

Sabres are pretty set on 1C 2C 3C going forward, so it would have to be very team friendly extension.

The problem for the Canes is the extension that he will very likely demand. He’s likely going to demand a long term extension at about 8.5mil, and similar to Horvat and PLD, he isn’t worth it. Besides, with KK’s emergence and need for Lindholm is gone.

I’m in the minority of Canes fans, but id take that immediately. Canes would make 3 top 6 forward lines and an elite checking line with Staal.

My thought with Ottawa was that with players like Greig, Ostapchuk, Boucher, Jarventie plus whoever else they draft (if they pan out obviously) would give them a really good top 6 that can provide a really good amount of offense along with solid two way play. Honestly though Ottawa was just a throw in to see what people thought of it.

Lindholm turns 29 y/o in 1 month... How much term and AAV will he be looking for? If he looks for max term, that'd bring him to basically 38 years old. Historical data suggests that his production is not going to go up... so just Batherson could be more productive in the next few years. Batherson also makes less than 5.0 AAV for the next 4 years, not smart to move that contract at all.

Then there is 22 y/o Pinto, who Ottawa obviously values a lot, despite all the narratives that have been made on CF lately

I like Lindholm and if he was younger and could be extended to a 6.5 AAV x 8 years contract, then yeah it'd be worth it but he is close to 29 y/o so moot point. Not the type of move a team trying to finally get out of their rebuild needs to make

Pinto will be a solid 2-way center. Batherson is pure offense but can be fine defensively in the right situation. But 3 factors play against him right now : 1) coaching can't instill 2-way play to save their lives 2) Norris just got back, will need time to play a more complete game 3) need a LWer like Joseph or Greig.

Plus Sens also have Stutzle, Norris and Greig... who would be moved to the Wing?

Finally, Ottawa's package (and Boston, Buffalo) is quite more valuable than Carolina, Philadelphia, Seattle and packages.

Lindholm- as much as i like him- is gonna demand way too much $$$ on his next contract to make sense for us

Sabres just aren’t a good fit
*not unless he signs for around $7-8mil & we move Tage or Cozens to the wing
But with all the forward talent we have coming, i just don’t see it happening

That was my thougth - if there is a chance player like Lindholm comes on very team friendly deal, then moving Cozens or Mittsy to wing would be nice problem to have. But there is no need to pay above market price.

And there’s little chance he comes with a team friendly deal that we’d need to be willing to make the trade
