McCabe I feel would rebound if they split him and Klingberg up. As having to babysit that guys not working. Put Klingberg in a lesser role with Gio on the third pair using him for offensive draws. And put Liligren with either Rielly or McCabe.

One of Mccabe or Gio. Klingberg is a net benefit so far. Brodie is our best defensive defenceman. McCabe shouldn't be anything but a 3rd pair guy and Gio should retire. Or be a spare. Benoit is far worse than anyone else

Brodie was much better in game 2 than he was in game 1. McCabe was the opposite, bad in game 1 and terrible in game 2. You need to just watch the game and not watch for what you want to see

Although I'm not happy with Leafs lack of NHL Dmen depth, just adding bad pieces doesn't help.
Next season, Brodie, Klingberg, Giordano have expiring contracts. That's 10m to find replacements. Reilly, McCabe, Timmins at 10.6, and I resigned RFA Liljegren. Leafs shouldn't be worried about next year and their Dmen.

Yes I would love if the leafs acquire tanev at the deadline if possible but there’s no way they trade any of our defence man to get that done

If we trade for Tanev spending a 1st + and he gets hurt game 3 or 4 thats a yikes and a half.

Keefe has not allowed Liljegren to grow. The guy makes a mistake and gets bench for a few shifts and it demoralizes him. He needs a shot in the top 2 pairing and let him be the good puck mover and show the offensive upside he has. When Keefe is gone Liljegren will show why he was a first round pick.
