While I completely understand where you’re coming from. I can’t imagine many teams would line up to offer a 1st + a couple roster players who are cheap given how contract negotiations have supposedly panned out with Ottawa.

I’m not sure Pinto is the type of player you make those concessions for as well as pay out the ear at the same time. Not a bad player by any means. But not sure he pushes many teams over a hump.

He had 20 goals and 35pts as a rookie. Why is it okay for Laf to keep struggling like he does but Pinto misses a whole year and comes back as a rookie and scores 20 goals and plays solid defence even with 2 bad defensive wingers but no one think he can play top 6

Like I said, the cap hit on the player coming back needs to be less than 2 million.
