How do you figure? I think Brannstrom and Joseph are fairly similar.
Joseph had 3 more goals and points in 1 more game this year, while averaging a little less ice time. He had more on-ice goals for and fewer on-ice goals against as well, via hockey-reference. The difference between them isn't a lot, but I'd say Joseph is a little bit better right now.

The only way I can see Pinto agreeing to a 1 year deal is if the Sens sell him on giving him the $1.9 million dead money which the B. Ryan buyout is currently costing the Sens (which finally ends after the season).

Give him a 1 year deal and sign him longterm in December. Give him like 6-8 years at 4.8-5.5

Can he? Ottawa doesn't think so. They played him predominantly on their 3rd pair. And they were a non-playoff team. I don't think Pittsburgh (or any team with playoff designs) would have him in their top-4.
