Sure we can. Get rid of Joseph, replace Senko/Kubalik with Greig or other prospects that might be ready, trade Brannstrom, trade Forsberg if Sogaard is ready... Plenty of ways to make cap space. I'd rather have three good/great centers than paying for wingers. If Pinto proves he's worth it, then pay him

Agree on Scheifele. Unless he lets the acquiring team know that he will sign for 4 years, his value is going to be depressed. My assumption is he will be trying to secure a 6 year or 7 year deal at $9m AAV to give up free agency.

Pinto is worth more than a first and prospect. Scheifele is likely to get the rental rate, which is around that.

I was worried about an offer sheet, but I think someone clarified that point and Pinto can’t be given an offer sheet. That said, a 21 man roster is hard to manage. You think you’d try to dump someone to get flexibility.
