Any package for Hughes would absolutely have to involve Nemec. I'd think Nemec, Siegenthaler, & a 1st is the core of the package, but I'm not a VAN fan. Maybe they'd prefer Mercer over Sieg.

Adding Quinn would be a nice marketing gimmick, but he's just not a good fit for NJ right now. He's a great player, but stylistically he's the wrong player for the Devils.

Let alone the 5 mill in cap they'd have to shed to accommodate that switch.

The only package that makes sense to NJD involves Dougie hamilton A la a tkachuk deal (hamilton being huberdeau). and that would require Quinn to demand out, and for vancouver trying to compete still. Neither of which are true.

A top 10 dman in the league is never a bad fit especially with what he can do in transition, but it yeah it would be a marketing gimmick and not worth the price when they already have young guys that have such massive potential.

Devils fans, just calm down, wait till the end of this season. The Canucks will miss the playoffs, as reported by Friedman if this happens Petty will ask for a trade.

Once that domino falls then you can get Hughes at half price when the Canucks are forced into a rebuild.
