1. Does Brisebois realize you don't have to sign every guy to a 6+ year deal?
2. Do any Tampa fans like the deals for Hagel, Cirelli, or Cernak?
3. Does this mean Stamkos signs elsewhere next summer? If so, do you care as a Tampa fan? Or are you happy to pay Hagel and Cirelli instead?
Cirelli and Hagel good. Jeannot, Cernak, we'll see after this season. Sergachev, Point, Kucherov Vasy Paul deals good. Stamkos is gonna depend, JBB has not had a good run retain the aging vets. Hopefully he doesn't lowball stammer too much.
Insane overpay. I think Hagel compliments stars well, but that doesn't mean you pay him like a good 2nd liner. He should've gotten a slightly better version of the Bunting deal imo.
Motherf*cker a 1st liner on our team, 24, Good to great offense and good to great defense, and plays really well with Point and Kucherov, yet he should be paid like a mediocre 3rd liner especially when the cap is projected to go up 3-4 Million next season?

Well if you think Cirelli and Hagel are good, but it cost you Stamkos, is it good?
Do any PIT fans like TBL representing the Eaat for 3 of the past 4 years, lol
Eh I liked the Lightning, always a fan of St. Louis so I don't mind... also they've been good way longer than those years, they went to the Cup final in 15, the ECF in 17 and 18, and had the best regular season ever in 19...
How long did Crosby, Malkin, Letang and MAF sign for?
Seems like a way to win to me. Take those shades off, penguin, and see that bargain deals are how you win the Cup.
I mean, dude... you're talking all hall of famers here and I was talking depth pieces. Notice I didn't bring up Sergachev, Point, Kucherov, Hedman, or Vasy
This is not personal, just simple math, counting and questions
How many players have recent Cup winners and finalists have signed for 6+ years?
The cap goes up. Simple math. A contract signed today, to the right player, is a bargain in just a year or two.
It baffles me how people that frequent a salary cap site cannot grasp this.
Yea I don't know what you're talking about I understand how things work but I am also not convinced Hagel is worth 6.5 for 8 years or that Cirelli was worth his deal either. He's young but he's also a 44 point ceiling player who has never hit 20 goals. He isn't even a face off ace or anything.... I look at that roster and if he doesn't improve that doesn't look worth it at all.
That's why I asked how do you feel about it as a Lightning fan, to have such a long term deal to a depth player who has a low ceiling.
You can say the cap will go up all you want but realistically, it's gone up like 2M in 5 years. We don't know what it'll do. Maybe I'm wrong about Cirelli but I've never watched him and thought much of him.

Question 1) I'm sure he does see the 1/2 dozen or so signings not named Hagel this off season observation skills leave a bit in question
2)f*** Yes awesome deals .
3) I'll also call your mathematics skills into questions because no there's plenty there.
Yeah, that timid 4-1 choke was really bad... And to answer your question: 166% more win than Tampa
So you mean 1 second round game win in 20 years compared to 3 Stanley Cups 2 more Cup Final appearances 3 more conference final appearance's in that same time frame
I kinda like the deal to be honest. its a small sample size but 25 goals followed by 30 goals isnt nothing. The continuing problem is where are the lightning going to find the cap space? or next year is stamkos just gone?
Why's it costing Stamkos? He'll sign a 7*8 deal or something like that and they're golden.
Well, i'm not saying it def will, but it could, depending on the kind of money he ends up wanting, and how much the cap actually increases. I did just really look at it though and it doesn't look as tight as I thought it was

I wouldn't say plenty but there might be enough, depending on what he wants and how much the cap goes up.
As of now, with this extension taking up 5 more next year, there's enough to sign him for about how much he already makes and then to let go of every other cheap depth piece thats currently signed. SInce they're all on cheap deals that expire next year thats gotta be his plan anyway.
But yea if he has a great season and wants to cash in one last time... no room without a trade.
I don't watch enough TB to know about signing all these depth pieces to long term deals for big money but I've seen it come back to haunt a bunch of other teams before. Now of course, these guys have won and he's built a bigger core out so it's a different blue print, but to call them awesome deals this early you must really love the players.
I just looked and there's like over 70 people who think this is a bad deal so you're def biased a little bit. You never know how players are going to react after they get the big time bag either. Wish him the best, skeptical on the term and overall value
