I could see ANA moving a 3rd, but not a 2nd. Brodie is solid, but there’s not a lot of leverage for Toronto while they’re above the cap. Meanwhile Anaheim is not competing and Brodie is an expiring UFA. All of the urgency to do a deal like this sits with TOR

As of now having one of Hagg or White as a full time NHLer is far from ideal, and I’d rather let Zell and Minty get a year to develop and dominate in the AHL

This isn't a slight against Brodie. Who I think is a valuable D. I am of the position that Toronto needs something different, and I don't see Toronto re-signing Brodie.

Considering helle played 64 games and Samsonov only 42 and helle being a top t goalie with 3 vezna nominations in 6 years the value between them is quite large. Helle is worth more than Samsonov and it's not close
