  1. Duclair, Anthony
Détails additionnels:
Let’s presume:

Eklund - Hertl - Duclair
Duclair PP1 primary shooter
20 goals, 0.75 points per game minimum.
These are safe expectations of Duclair. Not guaranteed, but safe.

Along these lines - Duclair heads to a playoff contender for at least a first.

    Détails additionnels:
I’d easily wager Barabanov at his current pace values around a 2nd. With an extension, and retention for his final year; I think he could get a first. He’s arguably a better player than Duclair, at least I personally would take Barabanov over Duclair 9/10.

    Détails additionnels:
Ottawa elects to strengthen their defence on the third pair.
Like all these trades, near or at TDL, Ottawa has already figured out their cap. They elect to move on from provide quality defence for their team. JBD/Brannstrom/Kleven/ Hamonic must earn their right for playing time now, no more hand outs for a team that MUST make the playoffs.

As said with all these, best case, SJS still gets minimal return for Hoffman compared to Duclair.

Boston needs centers not wingers so not happening, also duclair producing at .75ppg is pretty unrealistic he barely did that on a stacked Florida offence playing with much better linemates. Doesn’t matter if he is the number 1 shooter or not San Jose has one line and teams will play their best defensive lines against them and he will always have the hardest match-ups

wouldn’t call SJ a one line team. They don’t have any great line and the forward depth is actually pretty solid, just no stars.

I would actually like to keep barabanov, but value wise I agree, this is an optimistic but potentially possible return for everyone.

      Boston isn't giving up a 1st.
I don't see Tampa doing that either.

I really don't see any of these trades happening.

I think we'd be lucky to get a 2nd or 3rd for Duclair. Barbs we should get a 2nd.

Rutta, Hoffman, and Labanc's are so awful it'd take a miracle season to get those returns.
Keep in mind if that happens, Sharks aren't getting what they really need. A top pick in next years draft.

Detroit declines, we have better players that are a lot cheaper and aren't about to pay for expensive rentals just to have them sit in the press box.

Depends on the extension in place with Barabonov. However, extensions with pending UFAs are rare. But steep but workable.

boston counters with a 5th and forbort since that's what you paid a month ago for Duclair.
Plus we have too many middle - bottom 6 wingers as it is, and would only move Forbort for cap space to bring a Center.
will need to rely on Defensive depth if any chance at making playoffs

The Sharks are the complete opposite of a 1 line team. They have an abundance for middle six forwards that will be playing up and down the lineup. No matter how you match their lines, there's going to be guys who are used to being 2nd/3rd liners on the 1st line and on the 4th line or even scratched.

The only true top 6 players are Hertl and Couture. You can make an argument for Barabanov and Duclair, but everyone else is the type of player who wouldn't be out of place on the first line but also wouldn't be out of place on the 4th.

With that said Duclair would likely be closer to a 2nd return unless he has a great year. Same with Barabanov.

Boston isn't the right team for but I don't think you understand why it only cost a 5th and a 4th liner. FLA needed the cap space and Sharks took advantage of that. they'll get a lot more than they paid to flip him to a team that can actually afford him

not saying anything about the winger situation in Boston, I dont watch or like the B's but not understanding that duclair was a cap casualty is a lil silly. playing in sharks top six and getting every opportunity on the power play I think he could easily land in the 25-35 goal range.

Not opposed to Lablanc, but I think Trotz is aiming to get a bigger fish. He said in an interview at the beginning of the month that he essentially is looking to weaponize NSH's cap space and take someone another team can't afford and that he has intentionally left gaps in the team to do this.

I'm speculating here, but I wouldn't be surprised if Trotz has a list of players he is targeting with this and is just waiting for the time being.

Still doubt he puts up .75ppg with couture or hertl as his center and who knows as the other winger.

He played with barkov and verhaege his whole tenure in Florida and San Jose can replicate that line for him.

He’s a 3rd option at best for any top 6 line

yeah I wasn't really arguing the .75 ppg part but yeah, seems unlikely but possible.

No interest for this from Ottawa, particularly if they have to give the picks

Rutta makes 2.75 AAV for the next 2 seasons

IF Ottawa has already figured out their cap, they're not going to spend whatever margin they have created on this

Rutta is a RHD but can play both sides.

For LD, Ottawa has Chabot, Sanderson, Chychrun, Brannstrom and Kleven

Brannstrom is now quite better than Rutta will ever be, and since there's an embarrassment of riches on the left side, someone will have to play on the right (most likely Chychrun). Kleven is the guy of the future for the Sens and Brannstrom will eventually be trade to create a spot for him (ideally for a similar young 2-way forward)

On RD, they then have Chychrun, Zub, Hamonic and JBD.

Rutta could be an upgrade on Hamonic but the Sens just extended him for 2 years for cheap. If the Sharks retain 50% I wouldn't mind making the swap but not interested in adding picks or anything. It won't happen anyway

Plus there's JBD who looked more and more ready and has proven to be quite good defensively in the AHL. Just needs to get comfortable in the NHL and get some experience now. Hamonic might just end up the 7th guy
