no need to trade Ullmark for free this year, and the offer gets beat. To say he's been disappointing is completely incorrect. He did let in 3 goals, but they weren't soft. Swayman has been starting cause he's standing on his head and really on the reason we're in the series
Lohrei is $5 million cheaper than Gavrikov and already showing similar stats. just used one below, haven't dug in much deeper.
Even with Ullmark contract, we sign a suitable 3LD, and pick #21 in a weak draft isn't very appealing

would love to see Siegenthaler here. I think he fills out the left side great, and fits age group.
HATE that Duchene signing though

probably in the minority but i think i'd rather Beecher than Roslovic. He's younger i think both cap out at 3C with Beecher being cheaper, and more a "Bruins type player"
Wortherspoon over Bean if not just keep Forbort. I know probably just there for the cap.
Seems similar players and using a valuable asset for us (2nd rd) not really ideal
Hanifin deal i think more than fair. Top 4 pot D-Man, Middle-6 C, rental D-Man to flip, or fill in. The 3rd likely needs to be a 2nd

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>Yeah looking for a vet 3rd pair RHD who would mesh well with Lohrei's play style... any thoughts?</div></div>
Colin Miller. Likely sub 2m, knows the system and city, and can bring a bit of physicality, Bit of a journeyman at this point, and still plays a more stay-at-home style.
IF playing Lohrei, and not signing Hanifin (as i think we should) then he plays 2LD with Carlo and we can worry about depth elsewhere

Next Szn
Regula needs a real shot next year with the ways he's been playing, but can certainly see the argument of a veteran d-man playing alongside him.
I'd almost toss Farinacci in to the ring as well as a Beecher-esque surprise out of camp. He's looked great already as well.
While i fully agree that's a great D-Core, that blocks Lohrei's development in to a top 4 role. Lindholm has an NMC and with them both at 6-yrs, that'd put Lohrei at 29yrs old. If that's the case lets just sell high on his value and try and package that in to a top 6 center

i do feel the same, i'm hopeful we keep the core, but can't make the cap work for Scandella without getting rid of Gryz/Forbort. We can remove him, just thinking that big depth on the blue line could help come playoffs, and a bottom 6 grinder like Blais i feel can help with some others resting down the stretch while giving up little capital

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DealFinder67</b></div><div>Makes sense but he did play well for them. Maybe if they worked out an extension ahead of time?</div></div>
would depend a lot on term/expected AAV. He was a good player here, but we need top 6 help, we have plenty of 3rd line players so i think Sweeney should be cautious heading in to a year when most of our D-core is expiring and still in the need for a 1C

minus the cap not working, i can't see Sweeney giving up a 1st, 2 2nds, and a 3rd for 2 years of Bert in the playoffs (combining the DET trade)

I think he's still young enough too that maybe some growing pains. I'd love a legit young 2c like that. Or even play him up a little with Zacha and Pasta and use that playmaking ability. He certainly has all the tools, but i'm sure anything Boston can offer would be beat unfortunately

wasn't Mathieu a cap dump to start the year, no one wanted him for a 7th, and talks of waivers.
now he's worth a 1st and 2nd? easy pass from Boston.
Pinto for a 3rd Bs definitely do, but since it's 2025 we'd add. Ottawa turns that down though i'm sure

As a Bs fan and a Norris fan i would love this, but that would be a poor trade for OTT to make.
He's a bit pricey and probably caps out as a 2c, but is a good playmaker and seemingly positive personality in the room (not sure if that part true or just what i read)
Id be curious your thoughts on his 2-way game as thats always asked of a Center in Boston

on a positive note, Geekie had a hell of a game in between Pasta/Debrusk against NJD. That wasn't an easy matchup and he kicked ass.
i'd love to see Poitras in a top 6 role, even as a wing. I know he's struggled a bit at the dot, and playing that defensive role the Bruins ask for out of centers, but benching him and "scheduled rest" days i don't think are a good look for his confidence. I know i'd personally be pissed

If u guys trade Ullmark to us, do u really think he wins the Vezina again?? NO CHANCE
Conversely,
Mittelstadt playing with Pasta or Marchand is likely to be even more productive than he currently is (20pts in 22games)</div></div>

oh i agree it wouldn't be straight up, but he's certainly turned in to more than a "good" goalie the past 2 years.
May be the defensive haven that is BOS system, or goalie coach Bob Essenza,
But you also can't call Mitts a PPG Center yet. Hes on that pace now, but off that logic, Ullmark is a top 5 goalie in the league for the past 2 years and Mitts off that logic is also a "rental" since he's not re-signed

He could be 100 point player if he’s with Pasta or Marchand</div></div>
He has a lot more value to BOS than on the market. On top of the great contract with term, He's a legit top 3-4 D-Man, and a lot of his metrics never show up not to mention his leadership.
Sweeney refused to involve him for Horvat so it'd unfortunately have to be like Cozens for Carlo with some other fillers which i don't think BUF would do.
I still think there's a trade to be made, but involving Mittlestadt i still think Ullmark is the piece going back

trade deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dr_Invictus</b></div><div>It's not comparable because the latter deal at least provides something needed for both sides, regardless of value. Calgary has no need for debrusk, grzelcyk, and certainly not a 4th with retention.
Since coming to Calgary, Lindholm has 338pts in 388 games. That's 0.87ppg. Even if we suck as much as last year, he is still on pace for 60+ pts, which is respectable given the supporting cast in Calgary. Oh, and his cap hit is less than 5 mm.
Go ahead, find another center with those numbers for that little cap hit on the market, because I guarantee there are other teams willing to pay market, as opposed to a middle 6 winger, a bottom pairing damn , and a 4th (with retention) . Not to mention Boston is unloading cap onto Calgary in the deal, which is just lazy. You have to give to get, and Boston isn't giving anything of value in this deal, so it isn't comparable.
Amateur ACGMs at best</div></div>
Sorry to also tell you, but Zacha is producing same rates for the same cap hit right now. I know they're not the same player, but if going off this, what's Zacha worth with term?

would like to give him a chance but certainly not with Poitras and Marchand. That line will get bullied around on the ice. Just too small
Would like to see
JVR - Zacha - Pasta -
Marchand - Potsy - Debrusk - they seem to compliment each other well, JDB played best in this line
Lysell - Coyle - Freddy - He's good on his off wing, has a wicked shot, and player like Freddy/Coyle can cover all his D-zone deficiency and the confidence to play to his strengths

Right now $10m haha
i think he'll have the chance to come back put in the right scenario, but he's really only a semi-capable backup since getting to EDM with a sub 900 sv% (i know the argument "how much is EDM fault")
That being said the 4 years hurts even more. EDM has no negotiating power and only a small amount of teams can/want to make that cap/term work.
