First, that deal makes no sense for Montreal.

Second, if you knew anything at all about Toronto's cap situation, you would know that this trade makes no sense.

It doesn't matter what the situation is, Myer has absolutely no value. It will cost the Canucks quite a bit to move his cap.

Come on, retain 50% on Myers and add next year's first and get and get another team to retain another 50% and I would trade Brodie for him. Use that 1st to add another defenceman at the deadline, Myers at 1.5 million isn't the worst #7 defenceman you could have for the playoffs.

The Montreal deal also doesn’t make sense for the Canucks. Getting an overpaid, mediocre 3C who is awful defensively, and pretty meh offensively. We need a 3C that can play defense firstly and then provide some secondary scoring. Dvorak isn’t that, especially at his cap hit

What’re you high? Kuznetsov’s worst seasons are better than Boeser’s best. They’re both signed to the same term. I can assure you the minimal $1.2M savings the Caps make on this deal is far more than offset by the fact that Kuznetsov is demonstrably a vastly superior player.

This would be very interesting. I do think Kuzy will bounce back and is the better player but the caps are desperate for cap space and the 1.2 million is the difference between a 21 and 22 man roster
