I really can't see Boston making it unless they get a C. Zacha - Coyle - Geekie as your top 9 C is just terrible. They lost Bergeron, Krejci, Hall, Bertuzzi, Orlov, Foligno, Clifton and replaced with Geekie, Lucic, JVR, Shattenkirk? Woof. Can't win anything being awful down the middle. My mind changes considerably if they get a top line C though.

imo their blue line and goaltending is good enough to squeeze into the playoffs but yea their C depth is very very questionable. they def aren't winning with zacha as the 1C

agree with carolina's defense being the favourite but i rlly dont think goaltending is such a huge advantage over nj. you also have to remember that goalies like andersen would play well because that blue line on carolina is scary. goaltending is good but is more of a factor from carolina's superb depth on the blue line

The game is played by humans, just about anything can happen. Being so indignant every time someone places NJ over CAR (even though they were just 1 point apart last season!) is getting old.

I'd agree about the statement with Andersen if he hadn't been as good as he was in Toronto. He's better than Vanacek without the Canes defensive aid. It obviously helps him, but it's not the only reason he plays well.
