Are the 'hawks going to continue to be mediocre (at best) for a while then do you think? Or try to build more quickly around Bedard? Curious as to what you think they'll do. From that comment I would imagine the former though.

Correct. Can't see the Hawks deviating from their rebuild plan just because they landed Bedard. They'll be bad to mediocre for the next 2 seasons, letting young prospects work into the lineup and gain experience. Don't see the Hawks making a playoff run before the 25/26 season. They'll add some select UFA's the next two summers, but they won't be trading away 1st's and 2nd's until they ID any very specific positional need they have once they are playoff-run ready.

Can't have two Coltons on the same line. Pretty sure that's part of the CBA. I also think he makes a bit too much for it to be feasible for Colorado, unless they are planning to lose one of Toews or Girard (which I don't think they are).

Suter, Drury, and Jones are all fine targets. I can't see Timmins, Seeler, or Comtois for varying reasons, namely Malinski, the cost, and no room.

LOL to the first point, I originally had them on either wing on the third line which gave nice symmetry on paper at least. Sissons would be a great add but yes, it would rely on the Girard trade as above to whomever (I think the Hronek trade is still the best comparable for value). The others obviously slot in dependent. I'd agree Comtois is probably unlikely as is Seeler but aside from whether the Leafs would want to move Timmins, I'd say he'd still be the best addition out of those as I don't think Malinksi will be ready for a while yet and the Avs definitely need another guy who is a genuine righty for depth imo.

What do you consider value for Drury? I can't see the 'canes getting more than a 2nd in value for a want away player of Drury's calibre personally, and Wagner is an added bonus of a guy who can step in on a lower line if required or sent to the AHL.

Seeler can fetch a 3rd at the deadline. This trade is pointless for the flyers trade for a guy we don’t need and a 5th in 3 years is useless it will be 2030 by the time that pick is ever even ready for the NHL if at all

I could be wrong but I don't think this is going to be another case of "Foegele" or "Bean". I believe they will hang onto him for a bit or, if they do decide to trade him, he will be a piece in a package for a big fish. Just my hunch. Don't see a one-off. The return wouldn't be worth it.
