Petry doesn’t carry much value, CHI says no, Petry likely also has them on his list anyways.

BUF has no need for Desmith.

OTT maybe?

Flames and Carter say no

Poulin and a 2nd should be what you pay to dump Carter and Granlund. So the Flames are giving you hanifin for free, in which case they say no.

Actually doubt Chi is on his NTC. He wants to stay as close to michigan for family reasons. That's his top priority, so I wouldn't be shocked if they weren't on the list. Fairly confident his NTC is basically all of canada, the pacific Div. AZ, FLA,TBL

Hawks obviously decline. There is no chance the Hawks give up picks to acquire Petry. Pens pay a couple of 2nd's to move him if it's to Chicago.

No team is giving up assets for Petry this year. Maybe next summer, but it won't be from CHI.

Ottawa has no need/spot/cap space for Rutta

The only thing they would need and can afford is a middle-six 2-way winger

Ottawa has no need/spot for another goalie. They're fine with Forsberg/Korpisalo as long as they remain healthy and Korpisalo is a new goalie since his hip surgery

Ott maybe referenced the Rutta trade bc I wasn’t sure if they needed a depth d and felt like a meh trade but will trust you. Wasn’t referring to Desmith to Ott tho.

Sorry not sure what "Ott maybe referenced the Rutta trade" means. You mean there was a rumor or something?

7 guys with a 1-way (in order of good) :

Sanderson, Chabot, Chychrun, Brannstrom, Zub, Hamonic, JBD

Ready or very close to be NHL ready : Kleven, Thomson, Guenette

There's even Jacob Larsson and Dillon Heatherington who have NHL experience and not look out of place. There is also this guy named Matinpalo and the new prospect Sebrango

Defensive depth is now fantastic but forward depth is now awful. Pierre Dorion is an all over the place time ticking bomb GM so not very surprised, every year I have easily been able to call what will be the team's problems during the season while his cheerleaders were celebrating. He doesn't have much an idea of what he is doing. He is basically just trying to get the most popular names to attract public's sympathy

Last season, the right play would have been to keep Nick Paul and Connor Brown, get a RHD (instead of DeBrincat) to play with Chabot right away. Then keep Gustavsson and don't go after the bigger name (but much older) Cam Talbot.

We would have made the playoffs and have either the 7th OA or 12th OA pick left.

I just meant that the Ottawa trade proposed was an eh, whatever type move. As in, maybe Ottawa accepts. I didn’t know how OTTs defensive depth was though which you explained and I appreciate. Just meant the value is probably fine versus the other deals didn’t make sense.
