Bruins do need a top 6 C, but I personally think that they need to target one that will be in their prime still in 2-4 years and is strong defensively. I don't think Scheifele fits the bill.

Dude you’ve got the Bruins giving up more for Scheifele than what you’re giving up for Lindholm I don’t see how it’s realistic at all
Carlo Lysell and a 1st is an overpay even for a Center like PLD Winnipeg is not getting more for Scheifele than they did for Dubois

Are you under the impression that PLD is better than Scheifele?

Any team that wants Scheifele will have to overpay the Jets can resign him unlike how they were pressured to sell Dubois

I don’t necessarily think that PLD is outright better than Scheifele but I definitely think he has more value than Scheifele due to his age
The jets certainly have more leverage with Scheifele than they did with PLD but Scheifele’s trade market should be smaller than PLD

Disagree,

PLD had pretty much complete control of which teams he would go(extend) to. Scheifele has had half a decade atleast worth of better seasons than Dubois has ever had. While Dubois has RFA and age on his side half of that was mute with an extension being in place anyways, after December the Jets COULD do the same with Scheifele and I would think they'd get as much or more, and while Carlo is a nice defenseman in a position of need none of these assets in the Boston trade are gaurenteed to be as valuable as Villardi, nevermind the rest of the haul we got in the Dubois trade

I can understand how from a jets fan perspective Scheifele would be very valuable and he should only be traded if they can get a haul for him but I’m commenting more on the fact that the assets the Bruins are giving up hold a ton of value in their eyes and they likely view those assets as more valuable than Scheifele especially when there should be at least 1 Top 6 center going to free agency next year so this trade really wouldn’t make a lot of sense for the Bruins especially in the long run

The only way I see the Bruins even considering Scheifele is at the TDL IF Bergeron/Krejci aren’t on the team and they’ve had another miraculous season up until that point and there are some devastating injuries. Even still, he just isn’t a fit ointment Boston.

Hawks decline. Schmidt is a cap dump from the Hawks perspective. Takes a lot more than a mid level prospect to dump that contract. I'm not even sure the Hawks would trade that 4th for Zhilkin straight up.

I feel like you don't know much about Zhilkin. He is going to be a very good player. But, I do understand why you wouldn't want Schmidt. Your team already has players on ridiculous contracts (Foligno, Jones and Perry) Blows my mind that they could of had both signed to close to league minimum yet threw the bank at them.

What are they thinking? I get they want veterans for the prospects, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

What is the deal with Lysell? I read an article a while back that he has had some concussion issues and management will be taking things slow with him because he is "delicate" Do you think he will ever play?

Zhilkin was a later pick, but he blew WAYYYY past expectations and is a pretty good prospect. But, yeah, CHI still declines. I think this past draft has us pretty set on forwards. Unless CHI is adding a forward with CLEAR top 6 upside I don't see a reason to add more, right now. Picks are the way to go, if teams want to dump contracts on CHI, and dumping Schmidt will be expensive. Although, I think there is a chance a lot of players who are considered dumps this summer will regain some positive value next year and beyond, as the cap rises.

I don't know much about Zhilkin, but Hawks GM Kyle from Chicago has yet to make a trade where he gets a prospect from another team as a key part of the deal. He prefers to acquire picks and select his own guys.

Yes, Hawks overpaid both Foligno and Perry. But both guys fill a need for the Hawks and those deals got them above the cap floor. Both deals are for one year and don't prevent the Hawks from making additional moves if they want.

Just stating my opinion. Hawks GM Kyle from Chicago prefers to draft his own guys. He has yet to make even one trade where he swaps a pick for a prospect. Not sure why he'd start now, especially since Hawks have drafted 18 forwards in the past two drafts.

I believe this is Lysell’s first ever concussion so I don’t think it’s a long term concern but the story with him is that he started out in Providence this season and he was playing at PPG pace and in the middle of the year he went to World Juniors and really played awfully then once he got back to Providence his points production dropped and in the AHL playoffs he took a brutal hit from some goon in Hartford and that’s how he got the concussion but as for management seeing him as delicate I think that’s due to his size because he’s still only about 5’10 175 so I think the plan is to let him fully recover from the concussion he’ll start out in Providence and ideally he’ll get a call up at some point during the season

Why would he not trade a 4th for Zhilkin that is a Ludicrous statement
