All value and such aside .. why would Toronto do this? Kane is a notorious pain in the ass off the ice and he doesn’t shoot right. They already have they’re lefties in the top 6

Terrible trade for Toronto and will be disastrous for EDM depth in a year when Nylander is $10m.

Don’t even compare Nylander to Kane. Foegle worth nothing with his cap why are the leafs adding to Nylander for Kane? Awful trade

I can understand why Toronto might be interested in someone that plays with an edge.... doesnt kane miss all sorts of time each season due to injuries? They already have Murray for that.

Brad trade. Kane gritty, nylander is not. It doesn't matter that everyone knows Nylander is way better than Kane - Not to mention they're going to lose him anyways. If this happened fans would act like the leafs fleeced edmonton

Last season was the first time in a while he was injured, and it was a freak accident not something recurring

Kane is a pain in the ass off the ice? Isn't he playing rec league in edmonton and spending his free time with cancer kids?

Edmonton got Kane at a huge discount. Why give that up for 1 year of Nylander?

There is no justifying this trade it is awful and you know it is. We signed Bert and Reaves for gritty we don’t need to pay to downgrade a forward for more gritty

Makes sense. The missed games from the year before were because of the shannigans surrounding his contract termination with the sharks right?

Doesn’t make up for all the gambling issues he had and other off ice issues.

& again as I said, Toronto is full on the left side. Bertuzzi, Domi, and Knies.. why would they trade a premier right handed shot that they need for more of something that they don’t need?

ah yes, because he still has so many gambling issues in Edmonton. Terrible take from someone that clearly doesn't follow kane or the oilers all that much

Ah yes. You could say I follow them a little if that makes you sleep better at night 🙄

The fact is that it’s not one issue with Kane.. there’s last issues of gambling (betting on his own games), assault, domestic issues, etc.. & Toronto is a known organization that doesn’t take risks on guys that have a history of off ice issues. Doesn’t fit with their culture. & that was my point all along

I'm not even talking about the trade lmao, we don't want Nylander anyway, cant afford him the year after so what's the point? I also don't think a domestic abuser would get custody of their kid, he also had no consequences regarding assault and domestic abuse. God forbid someone can turn their life around after a rough patch, if you noticed he does a ton of charity work and spends his time in Edmonton, that sounds like a good locker room guy to me, No? Stop trying to bash players from their past experiences when they've turned their life around.

Edmonton declines. Their goal is to win in the playoffs, this trade makes them a worse playoff team.

I makes them worse in the regular season too, BTW. And that's without even considering the contract advantage that Kane possesses: term.
