Carolina laugh at this. Brodie is a worse more expensive Pesce, Robertson has almost no value because he cannot stay healthy, and a 1st isn't enough for Pesce.

Fair. Swap Niemela for Robertson and what else needs to be done in your view?

I think Pesce is getting moved this weekend unless a breakthrough happens with his signing, but I don't think it's going to be Toronto. Good news, you guys are going to get a lot of time back .Just ask Buffalo.

How would you feel if they dealt him for Nylander?

For Nylander I would certainly make an exception, but the issue here is that the Canes would not be able to meet his contract needs. I would love to have him but he's going to want too much. I think that ship has sailed.

That trade is insignificant, not what I'm looking to discuss.

I would do 7 x $9M. But I think he wants more. And we still don't know yet exactly what the Aho extension looks like.

Two bad trades. Canes are in a win mode, so they aren't trading Pesce. One year of Toews is worth Nylander but certainly not LIljgeren included.

It's a very good offer for Toews, but I don't think the Avs will move him.

2 years left of Mrazek at $3.8 mil to move up 10 spots in the draft? Trading assets to sign Foligno and Perry for $4 mil?

Clearly yes.

Obviously it is significant if you had to dump his contract in order to make everything else work. I would also say it is significant due to the fact that you wouldn't have the capital needed to make the other trades if you actually paid the correct price to dump Murray.

The value should be somewhere in the range of an early 2nd to a late 1st to take on an almost $5M cap hit and $6M in actual salary. So, some combination of a good prospect(s) and pick(s), and/or a pick swap of a 1st for a 3rd, seeing as TOR doesn't have any 2nd's to trade, or something adding up to that area of value. It definitely won't be as cheap as the Mrazek dump was last summer for multiple reasons, the most important reason of them all being that CHI doesn't need another goalie and our GM has openly stated as much.

He's a cap dump, needing a goalie is irrelevant. Not going to get bogged down in the most insignificant trade here.

Needing a goalie or not is relevant to CHI. If we needed a stop gap, they might be willing to take his contract for cheap. But they don't. You should think about other teams needs when proposing trades. It isn't insignificant because it would more than likely require TOR relinquishing their 2024 1st round pick, which would then affect the trade you proposed to Carolina, and TOR needs that cap space to make everything else work. What you deem irrelevant is actually quite the opposite.

Nylander for Toews is getting old already, the likelihood is negligible and the more cap you add to the deal the less likely it becomes, even if in a no cap world it might be considered an offer........and wolves don't go 'woof'!

I understand the likelihood is negligible. In case you forgot, this is a website for anonymous strangers to spitball trade ideas. Don't pretend I didn't make an effort to be fair; if it's getting old then stop going out of your way to comment and simply ignore it.

And it was a joke, because canine... and woof sounds like wolf.... a bad one I know.

This is a website for people to spitball trade ideas, you're right, so don't be surprised when firstly it's been done to death so people hate seeing it, and secondly, still comment on it. That's kind of how it works. You can't have it both ways. You do it to death, I call it c**p. That's how it is. The trade is a BAD idea mentioned by one 'journo' and then snowballed by Toronto fans. I also didn't pretend you didn't make an effort. Pretty sure I alluded to the fact in that it might be considered an offer in a no cap world. The fact is that it isn't a no cap world which is why it doesn't work, won't work, and can't really work, especially in any deal that adds more cap. The Avs won't be making any major moves now imo until Colton is sorted, and I think that will probably preclude anything else major in itself.

As for the joke....yep it was bad! tears of joy
