Draft Michkov (or trade and get additional assets), suck next year and get one of the many defensemen available in that draft. It seems that they went for organizational need and not best player available, while not looking at what they can do in the next 2 drafts on the defensive end.

We will see.

I am pretty sure the Habs won't be bad enough to draft that high.

Look how many RHD were drafted in the top 11

Where do you predict them drafting next year? There is a strong possibility they are not making the playoffs, so it will in the top half of the draft.

Zayne Parekh
Tomas Lavoie
Carter Yaremchuk

are all RHD available in the top 15 next year.

Cameron Allen was the best defenseman at the start of this year. The last season you play before your draft is the most important.

We will have to agree to disagree and pick up this conversation in 6 years. I think Montreal will regret how they handled the situation, but it is too early to tell.

You guys are pathetic, one day you're circle jerking after a Went Wughes trade you liked and then you're getting your pitchforks out asking for his head.

WTF YOU MANIACS.

On the hockey related topic, top 4 RD is so hard to fill with talent without paying a premium and when looking at previous cup winners, they didn't have a Vezina goalie, they've all had a Norris caliber guy in front. The more shots you take at it, the better the odds, wingers are easier to find.

This was as montreal canadiens as it gets gentlemen... different management/scouting department, same old s***

The never-ending dilemma of drafting the highest risers/by positional need. A classic MTL move as per usual.

Guess ill be getting myself a BUF benson jersey

galch was the right pick at the time, no one can really argue that. and before that it was price, who was a wayyyyyyy off the board pick. somehow worked. hopefully our last 2 picks are gonna work for our sake.

Guys still being pissed at the Chucky pick don't want you to know that even if he mostly played in the AHL for two of the past three years, still is third in his draft class for goals in the NHL. sarcasm

Hockey "fans" don't know where to draw the line between a bad pick and a bad draft year. It's easier to blame Galchenyuk than blame the pretty trash 2012 class as a whole. GG at some guys really showing they know hockey more than most GMs.

Chris Tierney is 13th in this draft class for points.

Oops.

All the same, big bodies with size & skill have been picked ahead of smaller players all night.

Everyone is freaking out, but honestly ask yourself "why" the Coyotes picked Simashev.

Clearly Arizona wanted Reinbacher and were determined to pick for organizational need.

If he ends up being our top line RHD, who cares?

I disagree. Personally I've had Simashev as the top D in this draft since January. AZ probably locked into him months ago. He's legit and will be a dominating dman for years.

He's still an extremely "off the board" pick.

I don't have regrets regarding Galchenyuk, I just had to include him because it's Post-2010. Lots of people blame the Habs for "mishandling" Galchenyuk, but he had his best seasons by far with MTL and things went south when he left and his personal issues took over.

Not at all. Smaht also had him ranked high. Super smart pick by AZ

Reinbacher is real good. Don't worry
