You'd have to pay far more to move Granlund. WPG could spend that money much better rather than guaranteed to get a dud.

I'd do that for Keller also, this just solves two big needs in one trade. If we can find a good 3C and goalie in other moves I'm all in on getting keller

Granlunds not great anymore but he's not as bad as everyone is making him out to be I would consider adding a 3rd or something but someone will take him without having to sweeten it too much. This is also assuming jets blow it up

Think everything is quite fair, you both undervalue and overvalue Schmaltz. Or at least overvalue Vejmelka who haven’t shown himself of a playoff starting goalie. Regarding Schmaltz he is not suited as a 3C but rather as a top line winger. Don’t sign Engvall and pay that money for a Teddy Blueger or Alex Kerfot instead for the 3C and bump Garland down to the 3rd line.

Fair enough, I think schmaltz is someone who can fit anywhere in this lineup and pens would benefit most if he thrived in the 3C role. But if he's better with malkin or Sid then he should play with them

The problem with Schmaltz is he has never played a full season due to injury. He's missed 20-30 games over last 3 seasons. He's amazing when he's in the lineup though

I don't understand the love of Vejmelka. He had a good year, yes, but he was atrocious last year.

His save percentage and goals saved above expected is pretty good considering how bad AZ was and has been. On a good team he could great starter

Better look for a defensive pk specialist as 3C for like Teddy Blueger. Regarding starting goalie I guess Gibbon would be a great fit. Hometown guy.

Maybe but he was a 1.3 WAR player this year and a -3.0 WAR player last year. That means, accounting for his bad team, he was ok this year and bad last year. Korpisalso had better numbers both years and is a UFA.

That price doesn't get Keller.

Keller would definitely cost more though. Probably have to switch the 24 2nd to the 23 1st I'd guess.

The Arizona trade doesn't fit the goalie need though. Vejmelka isn't a good enough starter for a team that's trying to win. But with no cap space I'm not sure what alternative you have. Just have to say a lot of prayers for the goalies haha hope for that goalie voodoo
