Arguably the best possible fit for Dubois realistically and the best chance for him to go deep into the playoffs anytime soon. I wonder if he realizes that. And an eminently fair trade on value, too. Well done.

Very well put together.

WPG absolutely has to take this deal.
Didn't ask too much for the cap space.
Rangers probably can't afford Zucc, and it might piss off Kaprisov.

I like what you've done, esp having Boldy on the first line.

THe only thing I don't like is Schenn. He's staying in Toronto LOL

Wow imagine giving up 3 1st round picks worth of value for PLD, who do you think he is Draisaitl?!

Zuccarello had just as many points as PLD last year and won't cost 9 mil to sign

With only 9 mil cap space and 8 players to sign, PLD to Minny seems about as likely as PLD to LA, neither have the cap space to make such a move without severely depleting their rosters and if they do that then they are no longer going to be considered a contender.

I mean, yeah, I would take PLD for less but he's a young #1C that are rarely available at that age and point production. Yes Zucc had just as many points but hes damn near 10 yrs older, on the decline and 1yr left on his deal. Disappeared in the playoffs. Rossi is small and covid slowed his development. Hasn't exactly shined in 16 NHL games. Wild hope he turns into what PLD actually is. Lambos didn't make the WJC team and still needs a couple years. People don't understand that you draft them in the 1st round but doesn't mean they maintain that same value. This is coming from a wild fan that hopes im wrong about those 2 prospects but im realistic. Also not trying to post pipe dreams either. I think its fair value.

Wild fans overvalue their own players. Zucc is 35yrs old and has 1yr left on his deal. Great regular season player but disappeared in the playoffs. Yes he has chemistry with Kirill but thats a bandaid that has to be ripped off eventually. So piss off Kirill now with 3 yrs left on his deal and has time to adjust or drag it out closer to when extension talks happen? Rangers, or any other contending team, probably don't make space for him unless trading for him is cheaper. You aren't getting a 1st or 2nd for him and if you can get a long term 1C in place of his cap hit, you do it. Just my opinion.

Where on earth are you getting the notion that PLD is a 1C?

He's not.

He's a 2nd line center at best. That is way too much to give up for a guy we can't afford. Would he be the best center on the team? That's debatable. I think Eriksson-Ek works just as well for our 2C needs. At a much cheaper contract cost too.

If we are going to give up that much for a 1C, I'm giving it up for Elias Lindholm. He's not only cheaper, but his contract runs through this next season on a sub-$5M cap hit. Just in time for us to gain $11M in cap space next offseason to pay him on a long-term contract.

Wild fans may overvalue their players, that's true of any fanbase in existence really, but that is incredibly way too low value of returns.

Zuccarello is likely worth around the same amount as what Claude Giroux got at the deadline. They're similar production level players at around the same age too. There's a reason our beat writers have used that as the basis for any hypothetical trade for Zuccarello.

Foligno isn't worth a 1st or a 2nd, but he's absolutely still worth at least a 3rd.

A 7th for Flower is laughable. It's too bad he doesn't wave his no movement clause to help you out.

"If we are giving up that much for a 1C, I'm giving it up for Elias Lindholm"

So Lindholm (64pts) is a 1C and PLD (63pts) is not but he had pretty much the same amount of points and is 4 yrs younger??? In 2 years your paying Lindholm the same at 30 yrs old to resign him as you would a locked up PLD at 26 with the cap going up. I argue that Lindholm is more of the same soft/small that Wild always seem to trot out there and fail us come playoff time.

Russo is on crack if he thinks some team is giving the wild a Giroux return unless its at the deadline in the final year of his contract when a contender can fit him in cause its prorated. Wild aren't doing that if they are in the hunt. If they can get more, great, sign me up!

Foligno is a glorified Reaves inflated by one good season of unsustainable shooting percentage last year. Great locker room guy and contract is not horrible but you can replace his production with an ELC. If you can get a 3rd, again, thats great and sign me up. Sign Reaves for minimum to fight and be the locker room DJ. Would rather have legit scoring depth and not be on the PK all the time.

He's been near-PPG over the last 3 seasons and has 100 games of playoff experience. Nobody is overvaluing him for saying he's worth more than a 5th.

Man I swear on CF, 90% of players making >3M are cap dumps.

He was not a ppg player last year and he will be 36 yrs old in September. A contending team maybe gives you more at the deadline as a rental when his cap hit can fit but I just dont see a contending team that has cap room giving up a decent pick to get zucc when they could sign a free agent and keep their pick. Name a team that would? Rangers fans already turning down a 5th...
