Parayko

Créé par: TMLBRIAN
Équipe: 2023-24 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 16 juin 2023
Publié: 16 juin 2023
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Matthews extends 12m x 8 years
Nylander extends 8.5m x 8 years

I would cycle through all 8 dman. Try to keep guys healthy by decreasing work load.

This team would suck to play against.

Thoughts?

Blues don't need Minten. The addition of Dean and having Alexandrov kind of filled that role. I'd also imagine one of the firsts this year is used on a center.

Timmins is likely a bottom pairing puck mover.

This trade makes the Blues tremendously worse and really only benefits by adding a 1st in 24 and clearing the cap space. Given Severson's recent extension I wouldn't venture to guess the 6.5m cleared can even get close to replacing what parayko brings to the Blues, given what he's asked to do.

That Parayko deal is almost a dump for STL as they get nothing back of value. I'm not sure if they are desperate enough yet to do that.

"Don't need Minten."Minten isn't really NHL ready, but I wouldn't count out a player because you have similar players/prospects. Prospects flop all the time.

Not wrong. But I wouldn't consider him a piece the Blues would value all that highly.

stock pilling good prospects is never a bad move. Injuries happen. good prospects don't pan out often. Timmins is a 3rd pair dman for sure. 1st and Minten is the brunt of the value.

Problem with St Louis is that they have 4 aging dman on very long terms. If they can move one for good assets, it will help them long term.

If they can move one of the other guys, that may be best though.

Chicago rejects, with any future year first you have to assume that things won’t break your way and that as a result the pick will end up being 32 overall. With that assumption in mind hawks would not take that trade as the picks are worth debatably the same considering draft class depth.

1st and one of our top 3 prospects is not nothing. I very much understand St louis wanting to keep Parayko though.

Dumping their best defenseman who is asked to play the hardest usage in the league isn't a great idea. Dumping Krug who they can replace internally, or moving Faulk for a younger defenseman for the cap is alot better of a scenario for the Blues.

The misconception about salary cap is how valuable is. Cap is only as valuable as what you put it to use towards. The ultimate goal is to compete year after year. Trading the only guy who allows the defense to remain competitive and play in sheltered roles is far from a good scenario for the Blues especially if they are getting a very average at best return. I know Minten is one of Toronto's better prospect pool, but Toronto's pool isn't really that strong and rightfully so they've been ultra competitive for a while. There is such a small chance that a move like this of Parayko is beneficial to the Blues it doesn't make sense.

What an outrageous statement, a first, a young RD who has some real potential and a B center prospect is nothing of value

An interesting proposal, but still falls short. Personally, I wouldn't take that bait.
