I don't think Ullmark signs that deal if Buffalo offers it at what was their rock bottom at the time. He's also not the same player he was then. If I'm Buffalo I absolutely do this. Krebs is already stuck behind Cozens and Tage, and there's plenty in the pipeline that can replace his potential. Even if his scoring comes around (no guarantee), there's Kulich, Savoie et al, and Buffalo could likely find a 35-40 point guy as a UFA for one year as the 3C to allow those guys to ease in.

It is well known that ullmark wanted a 6x6 and Kevyn said no. No use in giving up assets for a player that they could've kept. Would be a bad use of assets. Krebs is still an important player to this team. He's going to be a huge energy guy, so there's no use to trading him especially since he was a huge part of the Vegas trade.

That doesn't make sense to me. It was two years ago, the entire landscape is different now. Two years ago they were the worst team in the league. Now, Buffalo needs a vet to bridge to Levi. If Ullmark doesn't block it, would a reigning Vezina winner not be the absolute perfect fit?
