If they were willing sign in Calgary the Flames wouldn't be trading them, Sign and trades are not a thing with UFA's. As for allowing Columbus to negotiate that's not something we can extort them on.

CBJ says no thanks. Not that either are bad its just I think Carlson can be at Lindholm numbers in 3 to 4 years maybe less. Silly had a down year but im not ready to bail on him just yet. I think columbus just has to be patient for another season though i could see us being a bubble team this year providing we don't meet the grim reaper in a back ally again this year.

Can’t happen. Negotiations can only take place once July 1 hits. By then the Jackets would have used that pick. So the trade would have to be while they only have one year left which makes them a rental. But why would Jarmo pay a premium to have to do the negotiations himself? The only way any trade happens with an extension in place would be for futures that include picks from 2024 and on.

3rd overall isn't available. I'm very interested in Hanifin and so so on Lindholm, but there's a ZERO percent chance 3rd ovr is coming back, even for both.

I think Lindholm would be the perfect mentor for Carlsson. But there is no way we trade the 3OA for him. That is nuts.

Replace 3OA with 22OA and take your pick of Roslovic, Robinson, Tex (this one would hurt the most), Bemstrom, Foudy, Bean, or Boqvist and we have a deal.

Take Texier right off the table. They're not moving him this summer for anything. I'd be willing to offer any of those, plus Ceulemans (is from Alberta), Peeke, McKown, and Chinakhov.

I'm also tepid on Lindholm but would be thrilled with Hanifin. I just don't see how Calgary moves either of them before the deadline.
