Description
i know a couple of the guys that work for the leafs and theyve let me know some stuff thats going on in the orginization. supposedly the leafs have only interviewed four guys (all over zoom because the woke leaves hate face to face) and they are erik tulski doug wilson brad treliving and mark bergevvin. they said that tulski has some kind of data models that blew everyone away and he is the clear favourite for the job. of course we go out and get another stats guy... also none of the core 4 are being traded but tulski could change that of corse. expect an annoucement next week. if you dont believe me then whatever but these guys told me about the orielly trade and also the sandin trade. they are very reliable. i really hope bergevin gets the job but at this point we all know it will be tulski

dont pay attentiuon to the trades that just what i would do if i was the gm. the point of this post was to say that tulski will be gm. a statistics gm like him would never make a good trade like that one. im livid and the leafs are doomed for another decade im not sure why people want that tulski guy so much

If Tulski became the next GM, I'd have absolutely no problem with it In fact, I'd applaud the decision 100%. The work that Tulski did in Carolina is absolutely amazing and look at the runs that they've had over the last few years. If the Leafs went as far as Carolina did in the playoffs, nobody would be complaining about the Core 4.

Dubas' problem wasn't that he was analytics-based, it was that he didn't manage his assets well. He didn't sign Matthews, Marner or Nylander on 8 year deals and now there's the possibility one or more of them could walk because we can't afford the raises they're going to demand. He signed Tavares for 7 years, 11 million and now with his no-move clause we can't trade him. He traded Marchment for Malgin which is a stupid deal. He protected Holl and Kerfoot over McCann which was very stupid. He let Hyman walk for nothing and now we're all regretting that. Lastly, he traded for Matt Murray and now the next GM has to clean up his mess.

I don't understand why this guy gets as much praise as he does, he was a mediocre GM at best. Most GM's, if they had a young core of Matthews, Marner and Nylander would be able to build a team that wins more than 1 round in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

In short, I'd love Tulsky as GM of the Leafs any day of the week.

Though I disagree with some of your assessments, I agree with you Dubas was poor GM. Poor trades, poor negotiator, poor UFA signing has left the farm system barren, and has traded away good picks till 2023.

Canes decline. You're not getting the entire right side of their defensive core for yet another pass 1st winger they don't need and a bottom six forward who make not even make the opening night lineup, and I like Calle Jarnkrok

Great points! I didn't even talk about the UFA signings or the picks or the farm system!

At the end of the day a GM (and the team) should be judged on playoff performance and what the trajectory of the team is moving forward.

No team in the entire league pays $40 million to 4 players and if they did, they sure as hell better have more than 1 playoff series win in 5 years!

If I could trade Matthews, Marner and Nylander for a shot at the Eastern Conference Final in the foreseeable future, I'd do it in a heartbeat!

Year after year, it was playoff disappointment after playoff disappointment and we have to come to the conclusion that we can't win with these guys.

The worst part is that they're all going to be asking for raises in a year or 2!

What the hell are we paying for!?

I really hope this isn't true because if there are people working for the leafs leaking information like this then I am even more concerned about the team. I'd be happy with Tulski but these trades are awful for toronto

Sucks when you get all the info right and then it changes at the last possible second so it looks like you were wrong the whole time, when in fact you weren’t
