Terry isn't available so the offer doesn't really matter. I will say that a very late 1st and a couple of B-ish looking prospects isn't going to get you a 1st line all star winger. You'd have much better luck if the pick was top-15 or the prospect was A tier (and need probably both).

He's also going to get paid in the 6.5 range, maybe more depending on term. If you think he's worth 4.5M then clearly you are under valuing him by a decent margin.

If Terry would sign for that much, why wouldn't VGK just trade for him directly?

There's a point where you have to stop tearing down the roster, and that starts with Terry, he is still young and has shown he is sticking around as a 70+ pt guy.

If we trade him for futures, we just get the opportunity to draft a player like him, not a guarantee.

I don’t think the Ducks trade Terry, yet along to a division rival. I would assume it would start with Pelletier or Coronato, which I don’t see Calgary moving either.
