I’d prefer they draft Benson or Moore than Rein because the 2024 draft is supposed to be stacked on defense but yeah regardless this would be a quick rebuild lol but in reality we are never so lucky

I'm all over Benson and Moore, those are the two I want, with a slight nod to Moore. I love Benson's instincts but I just think if you can draft that skill, you have to do it. We haven't swung for the fences in a while but have also been burned on "safe" picks in the past. I'd rather go down swinging than looking.

I think Reinbacher would be a huge reach IMO

Yeah I think Rein goes between 10-13 I don’t like taking him at 7. The only way I take Rein is if you can trade back to 10th and get another 2023 or 2024 1st round pick for moving back 3 spots but even then I feel like they should just stay and take Moore or Benson

Trading back I would be fine with IF we can guarantee we can get him and don't get snaked. But then again you could go Rein or ASP so we'd be covered. With the team above, I don't think we need Benson or Moore.

Don’t think the Kings will trade for or sign anyone that would sit out pride night, LA press would be all over it. They are more likely to reup Gavrikov than pay this.

I don't think that's enough for Keller. His contract is awesome for his value and age. I don't know enough about prospects but assuming the Brink is an A prospect, it would need more than Sanheim and Farabee. Probaly 1 or 2 1sts on top.

That's an absolutely asinine ask for Keller. Yes, I do understand his age, contract, and stats are great. But fair value would be farabee brink and a 1st. Sanheim alone is worth more than that delta, so adding picks would just be crazy, much less 1 or 2 1sts. No way Arizona sees that type of haul

I disagree. You can't just pass up on talent or trade back with an uncertainty of not being able to get the player you want. Drafting Moore here, slot him as the 3C, move Cates over to 3LW, and keep Foerster. That would be a hell of a line as just your 3rd, and you could keep them together for a bulk of the season, through cold and hot streaks, and let them grow for a year or two. You could then slot Laughton as your 4C or 4LW or whenever an injury occurs and move him up and down the lineup.

I'd like to see some type of consistency again. The years we knew what our lines were is when we had the most success. it seems the real successful teams have their lines majority of the time, and maybe change with some in game adjustments, but mostly they know their linemates.

The dude puts up slightly more points than TK and they want a McDavid package for him lol that’s comical. The original offer is more than fair, maybe a 2nd or a 3rd added but saying two 1st round picks is comical

I am just not 100% sold that either of those guys are going to be stars. For me it's Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Michkov are the only sure things. I am sure that of the top 15 that you will probably get a few more studs but we could really use D. And, like I said, I filled a couple spots of need with those trades so we are in a better position to trade back.

IDK, I just watch Moore, specifically, and he did so much with way less than that stud top line for the NTDP. He has a wicked shot and the speed and skill to go with it. He's a solid two way player also. His biggest issue that his speed puts him into situations that sometimes aren't advantageous (getting to spots too quick for his linemates or D to catch up and he is converged on, getting double teamed in the corners because there's no help yet, back checking (good), but then recovering the puck while still being beared down upon in his own zone). take another watch I think he is the home run pick of the 5-15 range. I think Kristall is the other one more in the 10-15 range, and maybe sprinkle in a little ASP>

For Ivan Provorov you're getting the first or a conditional second that becomes a first, not both. No one is trading two firsts plus an NHL-ready RhD prospect who has exceeded expectations at every prior level for Provorov. That would be like someone overpaying a first, a second and a depth defenseman for Rasmus Ristolainen.

How is Sanheim worth more than a 1st? I haven't watched him play but his advanced stats are fairly mediocre. He's around 150th in the league in most categories. And he just signed a big contract. He'd better get much better to justify the money. To me is a piece, not a centerpiece. Same goes for Farabee.

Debrincat went for an A+ prospect (6 overall), an A prospect (37 overall) and a 3rd. He was a 6MM soon to be RFA. Keller is signed for 5 more years are 7MM. That's a steal. So if Brink is an A prospect, you need to add an A+ with it just to make Debrincat.

Farabee and Sanheim would probably be close to that A+ prospect (a little less IMO) but again, you need more due to his great contract. So yeah, another 1st, maybe 2.

Yeah, and how did that Debrincat trade pan out? he's certainly not worth that now.

Sanheim however is a top 4 dman who is just now entering his prime. His numbers last year I think can be attributed to playing in his 3rd system in 4 years, and a very demanding one when it comes to Torts. I think people who watch philly or get to watch them in our division, see his talent. It seemed that he put it all together last year, but took a step back this year. I expect him to revert back to his progression trends from 19-20 to 21-22. I think league wide he is viewed as certainly who is worth more than a 1st. A 1st and a high level prospect for sure. In a few years, his cap hit will be less and less of an issue, and if he does revert back to that trend, he is a steal at that cap hit. meaning, he would revert to a borderline top pairing dman but certainly a top 3.

And Farabee would also certainly fetch more than a 1st. First, he's only 23. He is coming off an injury he sustained in the middle of his summer training regimen and rushed back to be able to play in game 1 of the regular season with a VERY abbreviated training camp and no preseason games. He was clearly hampered by that but still managed to play all 82. he did take a step back points wise, but his defensive game was great, he really added a good element there under Torts. Getting his offensive game back, and he certainly is a guy capable of putting up 30 goals, again, would be a steal for someone.

Clayton Keller is not worth those two roster players, Brink, AND another 1 or 2 firsts. Just isn't. As I said, asinine.

Well first, I only looked up their numbers this year.

Last 3 years (5v5, 500+ min), going backwards from 2022 to 2020
Farabee:
Expected Goals:
11 (192nd), 9.4 (224th), 10 (42nd)
Corsi:
46% (312th), 46% (317th), 51% (120th)
Expected Goals Against per 60:
2.97 (329th), 2.76 (322nd), 2.32 (176th)

So Farabee looked good in 2020 but doesn't seem to good since. Note: 2022 was his worst defensive year.

Last 3 years (5v5, 500+ min):
Sanheim:
Expected Goals:
6 (19th), 5.4 (30th), 4.2 (11th)
Defensive Zone Giveaways:
31 (160th), 38 (181st), 28 (143rd)
Corsi:
47% (144th), 47% (153rd), 54% (18th)
Expected Goals Against per 60:
2.86 (157th), 2.79 (180th), 2.11 (38th)

So there is a similar story here. Really good in 2020. Not great since.

It seems to me that Farabee is worth more because he is younger and cheaper. That said, he probably isn't worth a 1st. I say probably due to his youth and potential.

Advanced stats disagree with your opinion of both players. That said, you are entitled to your opinion. You watch them play. Guys outperform their advanced stats all the time and may look better on the eye test.

Last 3 years (5v5, 500+ min):
Sanheim:
Expected Goals:
6 (19th), 5.4 (30th), 4.2 (11th)
Defensive Zone Giveaways:
31 (160th), 38 (181st), 28 (143rd)
Corsi:
47% (144th), 47% (153rd), 54% (18th)
Expected Goals Against per 60:
2.86 (157th), 2.79 (180th), 2.11 (38th)

So there is a similar story here. Really good in 2020. Not great since.

It seems to me that Farabee is worth more because he is younger and cheaper. That said, he probably isn't worth a 1st. I say probably due to his youth and potential.

Advanced stats disagree with your opinion of both players. That said, you are entitled to your opinion. You watch them play. Guys outperform their advanced stats all the time and may look better on the eye test.

It's almost as if the entire team has been bad since 2020...
