Agree with you. Teams with cap and picks should be offer sheeting those three players. Habs/Hawks/Sabres/Wings/Ducks are all in position to do it.

The risk in this process is that now you open yourself up to not getting either player. If you OS Miller, you have 7 days before the Rags will match it. In that time one or two other teams can OS either or both of the other players then NY still loses one but not to Chicago. So you would still get revenge but it might not be in the poaching of a player.

I would mitigate this risk by offering to acquire the player in advance of an offersheet, like a civilized person, but if that doesn’t work then let the pieces fall where they may.

Raddysh is already 25 and has less points than Laf. Laf is 21. I’m hard pressed to believe in 4 years he isn’t a decent bit better than he currently is. Plus we know he works with Kakko and Chytil. And he’s already got some playoff experience. Another hopefully deep run this year will only help. If the cap is an issue, I’m buying out Goodrow and moving Lindgren and keeping all 3 of Laf, Chytil and Miller.

I don't mind this at all. Strategically, I'm not sure it makes a lot of sense for CHI to put out any offer sheets this summer, though. I'd rather wait until we have an almost complete roster, important franchise players locked up, and just enough space to get something like this done. That way we avoid any sort of retaliatory offer sheets and do it when the team is "ready". Then again, if we do end up with Bedard, Davidson could try to ice a playoff team immediately and attempt a move like this. Might be the perfect time too, with the planned cap increases coming up and the excessive space we do have that could mitigate any retaliatory moves. But that might force us to overpay and get locked into a contract or two that could sour over time.

Drouin will have a hard time getting 1 -1.5 million next year he might have to go play in Europe or PTO why would you offer him 5 million ?????????
