Phillip Di Giuseppe needs to fire his agent. Two years at league min and there's a discount if he plays in Abbotsford. ... He must love Vancouver.

He is a 13/14th forward on a strong team. Getting two years is a big plus for him as well.

yeah, that what these kind of fowards make. 2 year is huge for him, considering how old he is.

I agree and disagree. He played on the second line last game, granted, due to injuries. I think the Canucks expect him to be a fourth line regular.

However, even if you are right and he's just injury insurance, he would have gotten offers in the off season. Getting two season is likely no worth just waiting a few months to see what is out there.

That's simply the idiocy of the new coach's approach to this part of the season. Guys like Podkolzin are getting 7-9 mins a night while PDG is getting more time. Why? There is not one good reason to not play Pod more minutes even if he struggles. He needs play time to learn and develop.

PDG is a borderline NHLer. It would be highly unlikely he'd get two years from any other team. They'd seem him as a solid AHL guy and he'd a get one year IMO. Two years and life consistency is important. Plus the high AHL salary he wouldn't get elsewhere.

Podkolzin is more of a RW and the Canucks are stronger on the right. That's why he's not getting as much ice time.

Plus Podkolzin needs to wake up and reach his potential. Thus far he has been pretty much a waste of talent. I am still pulling for him but I think some tough love is needed.
