Term is the issue and cap hit for what Anderson brings. We don’t really need him because we have Wilson. At least you have realistic value of Anderson so I’ll give you probs for that. 👍

Anderson is good for this team. Even if you don't think the value is there or are concerned about the latter years of his contract, the players and coaches want him there.
Paying $5.5M for ~20 goals per season isn't the worst thing. If you want to ditch some money/term, find a way to unload Armia and/or Gallagher that another team might be amenable to.
Even moving Dvorak makes more sense before Anderson. Don't buy what the naysayers on CF are selling. Anderson is not a cap dump and even if he was, we have no need/desire to move him.

Ignoring value, there's no reason to swap Anderson for Mantha, especially while sitting on $7M in cap space and up to an additional $8-9M opening up at the end of the season (or TDL).
There's no combinations of pending expenditures that is going to cost us up to $16M at the end of that season.

Ooor maybe the MTL media has been lying about those 1st round offers. If anything, teams were asking Mtl to eat 50% just to start.

Anderson isn't worth his salary...MTL fans lived so hard on Anderson go NJD for a 1st. While I loved getting Meier, I was most happy FL it to be an end to Anderson talk from mtl fans drinking the Kool aid.
