Every time Comtois has a decent game he’s moved down then struggles and is now a scratch. It’s baffling. His upside is quite a bit higher than Jones’ who gets to play every night in positions to succeed while not succeeding.

Comtois isn’t going to be qualified just like Milano and it’ll be an even bigger mistake.

Lots of people are giving Verbeek a pass right now but I think there should be some pessimism when it comes to him. He kept Eakins and his UFA signings have failed (I’ll give him a pass on Klingberg tho as that was worth the gamble). Plus he hasn’t signed Zegras, Drysdale or Terry let alone gone deep in negotiations with them according to reports. Leaving it til the offseason leaves Terry with all of the leverage and after this season has upped the chances of him wanting to leave.

There’s lots of blame to go around but Eakins and Verbeek are at the top of the list.

Yeah, they might be getting some trade interest on him, nothing imminent. Or they just want to try someone else. If they are likely to lose anyways, might as well see what they got in other players. Might as well learn something new, if they lose because of it, they gain some knowledge and are a step closer to bottom of the league. Really a win-win situation for the team, unfortunate for Comtois though.

He needs a fresh start HERE, but he's not going to get it. The reason why guys who got a fresh start elsewhere like Lindholm and Manson and Rakell look better now is pretty apparent to me.

I don't watch the games like you do so I can't comment on that. I will be very surprised if Max is not dealt this deadline for a minimal return or is unqualified to find a new home next year.
