So the Hurricanes will be active on deadline day. While Don Waddell has always said they won't make a deal to make a deal, the team is expected to be more aggressive than ever, per owner Tom Dundon. This means the Hurricanes will be in on Meier, and likely Kane but both those come with problems the for the Canes. Number one Meier is likely gonna cost too much. He is the Big Fish of this trade deadline and over 5 teams are rumored as interested. While, Kane probably doesn't wanna come to Carolina, and if he did he'd likely only be a rental which goes against the Canes no expensive rental philosophy. SO who do the Canes target? it seems more and more likely the canes could end up targeting someone under the radar, much like they did with Trocheck in 2020. The canes are looking for someone with term or extension potential, generally on the younger side, and is a goal scorer which is a lot and only a few names currently rumored to be available fit that criteria. So here are some under the radar options for the canes at the deadline.
