Value in the Canucks trade is fine but I’d rather keep Beauvillier as he has one less year on his deal

Does PLD even sign an offer sheet like that? It’ll get matched instantly and is likely below his market value.

Arizona passes.

And 1 x $6,000,000 for PLD would easily be matched by Winnipeg. FYI PLD doesn't sign it because it's already the same as what he's currently making now.

If rumors are true and he wants to play in Montreal ASAP, he signed that OS. Also it would be a very hard decision for Winnipeg to match that. On the one hand he would be the Jets own rental, they would know he was leaving at the end of the year, the Jets couldn't trade him at the 2024 TDL since they matched the OS so even if they are out of a playoff spot they are stuck with him for the year. On the other hand, it's a really bad return for a player of his caliber, the Jets could use him as their own rental if they make the playoffs and he would be on a team friendly deal for the year. I think this is a last resort to try to force a trade if you are Hughes but I can see both sides of this argument.

Lindgren/Miller/Mikkola top 3, then Harpur, Robertson and Jones. What are they missing?

Mikkola won't return, Harpur and Jones are 7D, Robertson and Hajek can't play NHL level hockey.
There's also the possibility of sacrificing Lindgren if Chytil/Miller/Laf cash out and no one wants to trade for Goodrow.

You don't know Mikkola won't return and Robertson is young, so time will tell. Harpur did fine paired with Schneider too. There are to many if's involved right now to project what the near future holds anyway.

The idea is fine, but Hughes is still green and building relationships, while currently being respected for his work to date.
That kind of move doesn't make you popular in the fraternity and makes others wary, while opening your team up to reprisals.

Keep it simple and let Dubois sign his own 1 year ticket to UFA through his qualifying offer.
If he gets traded and still wants to go to Montreal in UFA, cool. He'll come in with some more playoff experience.
If we still want him at that point, pay him fairly and do it without losing a likely lotto pick (+).

I don't dis agree, I was only commenting on why it wouldn't be such an easy match for the Jets.
