Maybe McCabe, otherwise it will be an inexpensive add which is likely if they manage to land Meier. They won't be able to make 2 large moves without giving up a ton in both trades.

I highly doubt the Leafs get Meier, too many teams willing to spend and I don't see the Leafs out-bidding anyone. I put it here because I'm trying to manifest it haha, I would love Meier on the Leafs. But considering they won't get him, maybe the bigger add will be a top-4 D

It makes the most sense that the Leafs would be looking to add at forward before adding at defense, and given Gavrikov's cost as well as pending UFA status, I don't think he's a fit. I don't want to rely too much on what the insiders say because they're all over the place, but Friedman has corroborated this. Supposedly Gav will cost more than Savard who got a late 1st and a 3rd, which doesn't allign with what Toronto is willing to spend on a rental defenseman. I know a lot of Leafs fans don't necessarily like Gavrikov, and although I would be happy with him, I just don't see it happening

I think if Kane or Toews are willing to waive to Toronto, then perhaps they could have a "big" add on both fronts, if the meeting the ask for McCabe at 50% makes acquiring the other more reasonable.

I wonder if Dubas would be interested in any of the Sharks defenders like Ferraro or Benning, maybe they could work out a Meier+D trade.
