Description
Feel like I'll get a lot of hate from both sides for this trade!

This is like when CBJ went all in, we traded a ton away in a last ditch effort to win it all with the core we had. This is similar for the Leafs except they get Boone for a few more years and he isn't just a rental, and can also try to resign Gavi to an extension. Gives them the chance to go all in twice (this year and next) before Matthews and Nylander's contract expire.

Feel like this is what it would take to get Boone and Gavi from us which I have seen some Leafs' fans talk about on here and rumors on reddit/twitter.

CBJ fans please just hide your eyes and don't look at the defense after we trade Gavi, it's aaaaaaa little rough to say the least...

I can appreciate this trade having at least one player coming back to TOR with contract term, and I love Jenner.

Not a fan of this price. What would the cost look like without Gavrikov?

It'd probably be a 1st + middle prospect/4th rounder or Rasmus + 2nd rounder (Not sure on how Toronto value Rasmus but getting a player back to help fill Gavi's spot with team control is a huge + also Rasmus, who I believe wanted more playing time before he signed the contract this season, will get a ton of opportunity with CBJ. Our D corps are all injured.

Seems like he's been hit with a bit of an injury bug over the last couple of seasons, anything to worry about long term?

I don't have an issue moving the 2023 first, especially considering Jenner has term. Not wild about moving Sandin, considering that would move Gio into the 2LD spot then a serious drop off for the 3LD spot and any depth in case of injuries. No real prospects in the system at LD after Sandin as well.

I don’t actually hate it, but I would really make sure if we are moving Jenner to get Knies in the deal and you did that. So it’s Gavrikov for the 1st and Minten, Jenner for Sandin and Knies. I could live with both of those returns for those players.

Boone had a back issue last season that he played thru til we were pretty much eliminated from the playoffs but has said at the beginning of this season he's feeling great and 100%. Injuries aren't usually a problem with him. Also Giving up Rasmus only gives you a hole in LD starting next season... which you can try and alleviate that problem in FA or by trying to resign Gavi after you see him play with the team.

A back issue is kind of concerning, but it doesn't seem to be affecting him this year which is a good sign.

TOR could go after someone in FA to fill Sandin's spot, but anyone they go after likely will cost more and potentially older, whereas Sandin will have another year at 1.4M and will still be cost controlled after that.

I think his back would also appreciate 5 less minutes per night against bottom 6 opponents.

I believe you also asked about gavrikov alone so that would be probably a first and third or b prospect.

Certainly the Leafs aren' trading Sandin for Gavrilov ....straight up. Value on the ice, cost, years of control are the reasons.
Jenner wouldn't be getting PP time with the Leafs, so his productivity wouldn't be as good. Leafs, best centre and LW prospect and a first.....no thanks from the Leafs.

The idea of getting any winger at all as a major part of a Jenner trade would have me advocating for Kekalainen and friends to be fired. Out of the cannon.
