MN Wild-Seller Deadline

Créé par: gottscc
Équipe: 2023-24 Wild du Minnesota
Date de création initiale: 25 janv. 2023
Publié: 1 févr. 2023
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
This is assuming the Wild continue to fall out of contention. All contracts are based off of The Athletics "Market Value" on its Player Cards.

Trade Deadline:
Dumba dealt to EDM (home) and signs extension there.
Hartman dealt for less than half of Brandon Hagel return CHI-TB at 21-22 deadline
Foligno dealt after BOS misses out on big fish at the deadline.
Goligoski waives NMC for another chance at the Cup
Reaves dealt for peanuts to anyone who wants him

Minnesota misses the playoffs so Brock Faber can't burn year one of two on his entry level

UFAs: Gaudreau only stays if deal is 2 years or less at $2.25milAAV or less (reportedly will take a team friendly deal)

RFAs: Addison, Gustavsson and Steel all sign bridge deals (Guesses on extensions. Hope for less AAV to gain flexibility).

2023 Free Agency: Sign 1-2 depth forwards and 1-2 depth defensemen to 1 yr/$1 mil or less deals

Coffers stocked with draft picks for Judd Brackett to maximize and cap sheet is clear at the end of Cap Hell with a projected $55 mil to spend after 2024-2025 season. Billy G can use the prospects to swing a big deal or make a splash in Free Agency 2025.

This trade has Craig Smith coming out to make the money work. When fully healthy, M. Foligno slots just where you think he would on the third line with Coyle and whoever you want between Zacha, Debrusk, or Hall. That fourth line gets pretty formidable with N. Foligno-Nosek-Frederic.

Plus you get another year of M. Foligno at an affordable clip when you'll undoubtedly lose a piece or two of your scary bottom six. I don't think Bill Guerin would trade M. Foligno even as a seller, but he has more value with term left on his contract.

No thanks to that Edmonton trade. Dumba at 50% retained is worth at minimum a high 2nd round pick. Hartman is worth a 1st+ because his contract is so damn good. Puljujarvi is looking like a bust more and more. He certainly doesn’t hold much value.

It's a pretty tough condition, but sure take it out. I appreciate someone actually reading through all the notes before rocking a thought.

Frederic has been playing really really well in that position, and producing more offensively than foligno.

I got to think Guerin would've moved him by now if someone came to the table with that. His value is absolutely deflated. EDM has more a need at LD anyway. Hartman's current play has his value deflated too, if the Wild get offered a first for him they should be grateful and take it and not hope for a little extra. He's not Brandon Hagel who's was signed for three more years.

I’ll be honest, I think a 2nd is too high anyways. And it’s not a raw stats look saying he’s only got x amount of points. I live where I get FSN and watch a lot of Wild games. He hasn’t looked quite the same since the shoulder surgery, and while he has a role and does it, a 2nd of itself seems a little much for me. But generally don’t like to beat up minor proposals (2nd round or less for at least serviceable guys)

Hard to say, but 2023's 1st and 2nd rounder plus whatever player makes the money work would be where I'd start. Pretty similar return to the EDM one.

Fair enough. I agree a third rounder might be all he'll fetch, but for a team with three second rounders and a head coach with familiarity, it seems like the best possible return for a retooling Wild team looking for cap space next year. Haven't watched enough of BUF to see a fit, but just listening to Russo's information.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Greenway this offseason if girgensons and/or okposo aren't back, but that is quite an overvaluation

He's played only 26 games this year. Can fill in throughout the lineup, plays gritty, and has another year at $1.7AAV. A low 1st rounder is a return one could expect from a cap strapped contender.

If people aren’t willing to pay a 1st for Dumba, then I’d rather just hold onto him and let him walk after the season.

Hartman’s got another year at $1.7M. He could be extremely valuable to a cap ceiling contender looking to go all in.

You're really not paying attention to the league if you think Hartman's value tops out at a 3rd.

There's a big difference between what you, or any other random CF user, would be willing to pay, and what the actual historical precedent suggests his value is. Unfortunately you're massively conflating those two.

I'd recommend brushing up on trades from the last few seasons that have involved 1sts -- Trades Involving 1sts

I don't think he's gonna be traded, but if he does, a 1st or 1st equivalent will be involved. Otherwise, Guerin will be happy to just keep him...which is probably his plan to begin with.

Agree that the required price will not be met, thus Wild keep him. Disagree that they'd struggle to get a 1st. But to each their own.

Edmonton declines. Your asking price is too steep and they don't have anywhere near enough cap space to make it happen.

You’d have virtually Zero chance
Not many teams even trade a 1st at the deadline for a winger
And there’s plenty of guys available who would be wanted more & have more value

As I said, you're entitled to your own opinion, but everything you just said is total conjecture.

And there are plenty of examples that disagree with you - Hagel, Foligno, Toffoli, Palmieri, Goodrow, Kase, Zucker, Mantha, Tatar, Stastny....
