Lafreniere isn’t a “top tier prospect” anymore. He’s a NHL player who was drafted very high and isn’t anywhere near living up to that status as evidenced by his multiple healthy scratches in his 3rd year in the league.

Could he still become a superstar in the league? Absolutely. But right now, it’s moreso looking like not and he likely will not be traded this year and if he is, he damn sure won’t be traded for a current superstar player in Timo Meier unless he comes with a whole lot more than what you have here, definitely not with an albatross salary dump.

we really would not, trading an elite power forward and not even getting a first round pick back for a player who isnt worth his contract and someone who is struggling to figure it out at the NHL but was a number one pick.

Would love to get Meier…but his next contract is probably going to be around 9M per- so even sneaking Goodrow into this deal won’t provide enough Cap space. So unless Trouba, Kreider, or Panarin can be moved- none of which is happening at TDL- Meier can’t be a long term fit…and absolutely not parting with premium assets for a rental.

Don't know who you think is thirsting after Laf, but it's not me, and I can't think of any Ducks fans who are out here salivating over him either. There was a post by a rangers fan a few weeks back that involved Laf + Kakko + some other crap for Zegras and Drysdale, but that was universaly shouted down by our camp.

Drysdale is a defenseman. In both of their first full seasons, they put up basically identical points totals. Most critically, Drysdale wasn't a 1OA pick, he wasn't even a top 5 pick.
