if the leafs are giving up 2 firsts, robertson and Voit they can do a lot better than a bad 3rd liner and a broken heavily declined Kane

This screams Foligno trade all over again pass

I like Kane but 2 1sts for 2 rentals is a no go. Domi does not fit what the Leafs need and Kane is playing hurt rn. Not a great idea

That’s a bad trade for Leafs. Not the players I would target (Domi is not good enough & unsure if Kane can still contribute at elite level) and certainly not the price I would pay.

U think they actually trade him next year and not try and go hey sign 1 year with us and then we can trade u next year.

To me the Friedman suggestion makes more sense.

That doesn’t work if he doesn’t resign in the off-season

If the leafs trade two first round picks it should be in a Hagel like move. Young player with under team control at an affordable price

at least Foligno was healthy when the leafs traded for him and filled a need on the team. Kane is hurt now and plays one of the leafs strongest positions

Actually Foligno apparently was dealing with something but than it came back on top of a back injury. Not fun but was a lesson for Dubas to be more careful with big trades

Like to me Dubas's checklist is perfect

Someone with term
Someone who fits the playstyle

They could still trade him and he could still come back and sign for the year and get traded again ! lol

The issue rn is the value wont be there other than namesake. They could trade him but with Friedman's report hes been dealing with an injury plus this (even though its only till Saturday) that does not help his value

Better to keep him and trade him next year for more. As lets be honest if they traded him this year offers would suck thanks to the injury reports and he would not come back next season.

Kerfoot and Engvall for Kane and Domi would only help the Leafs marginally (at best) this season. And to give up all those futures too. Ridiculous.

Absurd comment. Do you know who Patrick Kane is and his history in the playoffs?

I also know Dave Keon's record in the playoffs but I don't want him on the 2023 Leafs. Kane just hasn't been good this season.
