Lines that are set in stone
Bunting Matthews Nylander
Kerfoot Kampf Engvall
? Tavares Marner
Sandin Liljgren
With the recent success of Jarnkrok, does that make the need for a top 6 still necessary. Time will tell on that, but IMO that still should be the priority. Then you can move Jarnkrok down in the lineup.
The 4th line still gets continually hemmed in, that needs to get addressed. Holmberg has earned the right at 4C but I’d look at removing Hunt and even Reese, especially if they acquire a top 6 LW. Then you can move down Jarnkrok to play with Holmberg and add a Bonino, Sheary, Bjugstad type for a responsible and scoring 4th line. Or possibly, just maybe, it’s Knies.
They need to figure out how to get Timmins more ice time while this defensive group is healthy. When paired with Brodie, they have put up excellent defensive/offensive numbers. If that paring becomes a mainstay as a 2nd pairing, with Sandin and Liljegren on the 3rd, I’d seriously consider moving Holl to have a new pairing for Rielly. If they could go after a Gudas, Gavrikov, Orlov, Shenn would be ideal. Giordano is starting to show his age and having him as your 7th D would be incredible depth.
Top 6 options
Kuzmenko (high cost but wouldn’t have to move cap to fit him
in)
Meier (perfect fit bit would cost a lot)
Perron (perfect fit, won a cup, plays mean, and most importantly scores goals) would he waive to come tho
4th line options
Bonino
Sheary
Bjugstad
Trenin
Acciari
Or possibly just Knies 🤞
