Quoting: Wqrrior
they get younger which is something they desperately need tbh
i think id do it if we were still too reluctant to outright sell. both guys value is not there right now so it gives each player a chance to turn it around and boost their value.
brock struggles to create plays and mantha (from what ive heard) struggles to finish so two opposite problems may be a solution in new places.
Maybe, but I think Vancouver might be trying to cut down on what they have up front, before they try to add. So we might see Boeser and Horvat gone (he will probably bring back someone who will replace him). Garland, Pearson, and Myers will be on the block (chances are that they only end up moving Myers next off-season). Guessing Kuzmenko has a good chance of getting resigned (if he's interested) if they end up moving at least two of those guys.
Originally, I thought they might just be making space for a Boeser extension but from what I'm hearing now it seems like there's a high chance that both Boeser and Horvat are shipped out. So, I'm guessing the money is going to be reallocated into two RDs.
If Boeser gets traded for another roster player it could be a guy like Dumba or Severson (although I don't think he's been linked to NJ) and if he goes to WSH could be more so for picks+ a UFA forward (not sure how much cap they have). I also think they will be in on Klingberg if he hits free agency next year.
Horvat probably bring in a 1st+ a C or RD prospect as the main components.
I'm sure the situation is very fluid, if they end up moving Garland perhaps they would be interested in moving Boeser for Mantha.
